Kristoffer Stokkeland (kristofferst) | 9 comments Regarding Kindle Editions and their page count (for those that actually have real page numbers, and not just locations) there is a discrepancy between the real page count offered on the Amazon page that sells them and the actual page number the Kindle itself gives.

Which should be used here on Goodreads?

As a Kindle user I'm clearly in favor of the latter. The page number the Kindle gives is the end of the regular content of book; some have locations with registry after, as well as notes and stuff that in normal books are in the footer.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments The page number of the actual book (Kindle or print) should be used. Page counts given to books by the publisher (and transmitted to retailers) are often just estimates, that aren't worth the trouble for the publisher to update. That's why we have a whole folder just for page number requests. :)

In addition, we are not allowed to use data from Amazon anyway.
