It rly was predicable

Tsmith I knew from the first book that she was going that way. I wanted to yell at Sydney to pay attention. For real how dense could she be?

message 3: by M. (new) - rated it 4 stars

M. Uh, it could be only me, but I also found VA super predictable, especially the last book. But it's the way Richelle writes. She foreshadows a lot and yeah some aspects turn out to be predictable but she also throws plot twists here and there.
One thing I know for sure is that Sydney will end up locked up at the re-education center.

Oh, I don't want Sydney to be locked up either, I just know it will happen. And I think Adrian will rescue her.

S.L.J. In Bloodlines Clarence said 'they worship the sun' and then Sydney said about Trey's tattoo. I knew before this TGL came out that Trey was a Vampire Hunter. I even started a thread on it. :P

It was predictable, not that I minded that, but I was a little disappointed. I mean, those guys sucked! They're like modern day Templar Knights except that they can't seem to kill anything.

They were just idiots with egos. I'm kinda getting sick of all the human nutjobs in this series. I think those two girls that Sydney is friends with are the only normal humans in both VA and Bloodlines series.

Why do PNR authors forget that there are 7 billion humans on the planet? And not all of us a crazed religious psychos?

They also seem to forget about the 100,000 of law enforcement officals, the FBI, MI5, MI6, CIA, NSA, Homeland or the few million soldiers that we have. But we never seem to catch on...hmm.

Humans are pathetic in this series. At least we're more capable in real life. :)

Because as I mentioned before, Richelle is big on foreshadowing and there is just too much emphasis on the re-education center. First with Sydney dreading going there herself after she helped Rose escape and then in TGL with her visiting what's his face there? I forgot his name already.

I totally agree with you. I can see her getting shipped away and Adrian rescuing her. And when that happens I'll be enjoying every minute of it since Adrian is amazing haha.

I know! I can't wait for him to have his Knight in Shiny Armor moment.

Sandy I love this series but I always find it to be predictable. I also thought the plots and twists in Vampire Academy were predictable as well but I stuck around for the characters and their stories even if I am rarely surprised.

message 10: by Kat (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kat Yeah, it was predictable, but I loved it anyway. I also love guessing at what's going to happen, and it actually happening. It's a "YESS!! I'M PSYCHIC!" feeling. What also helps is the humor and fun in everything. For example, did I know that Adrian was using his vintage mustang to entrance Sydney into spending time with him? Yes. But that didn't stop me from laughing every minute of his displaying it for her, or her own naivete in not realizing that he's showing up Brayden. Did I know that Sydney was going to need to use her "magic" to help her save the day? Yes. But it was still fun to see her deny her skill while still absorbing all the information. It's just her stubborn personality, is all. She'll deny Adrian now, but later they'll end up together. Omniscience Rocks.

Mandy97 AHHH! Yes :) I love guessing What's going to happen, and then seeing it actually happen. Some people say it ruins the books for them, but I think it's fun.

OH! One thing, I thought about it when Micah was first introduced. When Eddie said that micah looked almost exactly like mason, I couldn't help but wonder if maybe...just maybe...they could be related or something. It would be awesome! But by the end of golden lily, I kind of realized that it was probably a no-go. Sad :'( I was hoping that maybe mason's mom had another kid that she kept hidden from him O.o. unrealistic, but what can I say? I thought it would be cool...

Mikaela everyone is like soo predictable. me i didn't have a clue.

oh yeh i could tell with adrian liking her because it was supposed to be like that, because it is from Sydney's point of view she doesn't see it because she is so blind yo love- i was just talking about Trey :)

Adrielly Rodrigues I thought Bloodlines was so much better than The Golden Lily. Though I can't wait to see Adrian and Sidney together, I didn't like how it ended.. Hope the next one is better!

I don't know, my opinion is that the Golden Lily is better because, i felt more comfortable wih Sydney being the narrator because i had gotten used to her and so did Richelle Mead, she said it was a bit hard to get into Sydney as the narrator but during the Golden Lily she was comfortable with it. But i just felt it was more well crafted and because there was a build up of emotions from Bloodlines, and in the Golden Lily that stuff was expressed, but i do agree with you about the ending. I was crying for days afterwards, i was like "Why, Sydney, Why? Why would you crush his soul and heart!"

Totally!!! Why does everyone have to make Adrian suffer? Seriously?!?! I can't stand seeing him hurt, he's my favorite character and I want to see him happy!!!! What's wrong with that Richelle Mead? Seriously? And seeing your side of the story I kinda have to agree with the easy writing, but I don't know, specially in the end, I still liked bloodlines better...

Yes, Sydney may be smart, but she is rather dense when it comes to realizing what's going on around her.

Astra I didn't guess it. God, I feel stupid! :(

Janina I totally guessed it too, pretty much everything was extremely predictable. It hurts me to say this but there basically wasn't a good plotline besides Sydrian. I enjoyed Bloodlines a lot more, I hope the Indigo Spell will be better though.

Celeste You could totally tell at the end adrian would kiss her too. I mean its like "adrian just fell In love with her, they are going to kiss at the end. " and because your almost to the end you know what's gonna happen. I toally didn't see jill and adrian being bonded in the first book, I saw sydney adrian together. you could tell from the first book because I fell in love with her when he saw her. after rose I told is not a dream instead of sydney he needed someone. so predictable it wasn't even funny I saw h eRim fall in love and the kiss at the end. no disrespect but I feel it was kind of like I made myself. sorry. I have to speak the truth.

I just wish they would have done it when Sydney takes Adrian home from the dance. We could see how she dealt with it. Now, I've got wait till The Indigo Spell is coming out. Though I guess if they did it earlier in the book, it wouldn't be the same story.......

Sonja I knew since Bloodlines when the vampire hunter subplot was introduced and Trey's sun tattoo was seen. Predictable.

M. Ursula the sea witch wrote: "it was predictable, but c'mon thats y we like it. cos were nearly always right. i think RM may have intended micah to be a part of a subplot but later abandoned the idea."

Well, she also abandoned Mia's character in VA which was a shame. I would much rather have her in the Bloodlines than Angeline for instance. But I think I'm minority of my dislike of her...

Sandra Not Really, I don't really get why Angeline is there - well maybe to complicate things between Jill and Eddy. I think it's mentioned already, but really, wasn't anyone else at their school good enough to guard Jill?

Perhapse the Keepers will play a further role into upcomming stories. I don't care for Angeline just yet lol, will have to wait and see what happens :)

Cathryn Ferrara I think the stories are fairly predicable all along but I still enjoy them. I had no doubt that Trey was somehow involved in the whole thing but wasn't clear what it was until a bit into Golden Lily.

I also think Angeline's presence is very contrived I don't see her being there as helpful at all from any characters perspective just one more person for Syd to babysit but she is there is for romantic drama.

M. Sandra wrote: "Not Really, I don't really get why Angeline is there - well maybe to complicate things between Jill and Eddy. I think it's mentioned already, but really, wasn't anyone else at their school good eno..."

I thought the same thing. With all those young guardians that graduated the academy, they couldn't find one that was trust worthy enough?

Anyways, maybe my opinion of Angeline will change in the future books. It's possible that she is just the link to bring the Keepers into the story. But I still maintain that she was a waste of space in the Golden Lily.

S.L.J. I remember Sydney saying that Angelina was chosen because the Keepers hate the Court so there was absolutely no chance of her being in with the people that want to kill Jill. That and the fact that she is a dhampire with fighting skills so like Eddie she can blend in alot more easily.

I'm really hoping that Mia shows up in the Bloodlines series though.

message 31: by M. (new) - rated it 4 stars

M. Let's start a petition to ask Richelle to bring Mia back! :)

Cathryn Ferrara S.L.J. wrote: "I remember Sydney saying that Angelina was chosen because the Keepers hate the Court so there was absolutely no chance of her being in with the people that want to kill Jill. That and the fact that..."

I think the link to the keepers is a valid point I just felt she was fairly useless and over her presence does not fit well with the story but the keepers will be brought back so I guess RM needs to keep them fresh in our minds.

S.L.J. I've got ta theory that Sydney and the others will have to turn to the Keepers for help at some point. They are a pretty fomiddable army after all. If it comes to a big battle against the Strigoi or Warriors of Light, the Keepers might be what tips the scales.

I really like this theory

S.L.J. Mia was helping Jill to learn how to fight with magic (since they're both water users) so I think she could easily be added to the Bloodlines series. Let's hope RM decides to bring her back. :)

I completely agree. And yes I do see her eing locked up, if for no other reason (as if it wasn't obvious enough) because Adrian told his dad that if the woman he loved was locked away he would do anything to find her. I am looking forward to him keeping his word.

JJ Mika wrote: "Let's start a petition to ask Richelle to bring Mia back! :)"

Io be honest I kinda hoped she was the one that ended up with Eddy (anybody else got the feeling she had a thing for Mason?). I at least thought she would be one of the main characters for Bloodlines since she also aided Rose and could've also gotten in trouble. Her bitchiness would have been a nice contrast to Sydney but I guess I see the potential in bringing the dhamphir girl.

I think I would much rather see Mia and Eddie together than see him with either Jill or Angeline. But then that wouldn't be a controversial situation. I really don't see the attraction between Eddie and Jill to be honest. She is just too young and immature. But maybe her character will go through a 180 degree change like Mia.

Yeah, the attraction seems WAY out of character for Eddie

Trey as a vampire hunter was predictable but I mind because I was so locked with all the Sydrian. Mia and Eddie... I never actually think about them being together, but th idea is wonderful. To be honest I really don't want Eddie to be with Jill, Jill can find someone else; maybe Mica? Also the theory on Sydney going to be send into re-education centre is likely to happen.
