Maggie Spry What did everyone think of Deadlocked?

I just finished reading Deadlocked yesterday. I have to agree that Eric is not the same as they way he's been. I definitely think its over between Eric and Sookie, which makes me sad :(. But they have been fighting a lot lately, and he won't get out of the marriage with Freyda. I think he wants to be married to a queen in a way, because he will love the power. Although, he won't be nearly as powerful as the queen's consort. It bothered me that he expected Sookie to get him out of it by using the cuviel dor, when (if he really wanted to) could get out of it himself. It seems like the blood bond was the reason for them being so close. Without it, they don't seem to get along that well. Sure there is attraction, but that seems to be about it.

Using the cuviel dor on Sam, maybe be a romantic thing or not. As it has been said, there has been underlying attraction between Sookie/Sam forever. She always seems to be jealous when he's dating other women (Jannalynn, Calisto) and he's seems pretty jealous when Sookie is dating other men (Bill, Eric, Alcide, Quinn). And the cuviel dor can be used to save someone she loves. But it doesn't entail what type of love. Romantic love or otherwise?

I am also thinking that Bill might be another viable mate for Sookie again. He has definitely proved himself reliable time and time again. He's always there for her, whether she returns the feelings or not. He was the one (along with Niall) who saved her from the fairies who were torturing her NOT Eric. He has redeemed himself in my eyes. After betraying her, he has still be there for her. So we will see what happens.

The fairies, I am not sure what to think. Like it has been said, that storyline ended abruptly. They were a big part of the story from about book 8 onwards, and then all of the sudden they are gone. I also liked Dermot, and truly don't believe he had anything to do with the betrayal of Sookie. I knew it! I always felt that there was something fishy about Claude. He was never really polite to Sookie, and then all of the sudden he was helping her all the time, it seemed like too drastic of a change for his character. I wonder if the fairies are done? Because Niall can open the portal whenever he feels like it, even though he says that he doesn't want to.

All in all, I wasn't too impressed with this book. Books 10-12 didn't really capture my intrest as much as the rest. Hopefully the last book will be the grand final we are all waiting for!

I also thought the use of the cuviel dor was too rushed. I thought there would be more build up before it was used.
