Favorite Color: Turquoise
Favorite Food: Fresh Friut
First Romance Novel Read: Sorry, I can't really remember. Maybe it was North By Night?
Favorite Romance Genre: Novels like "Walk Two Moons". Real life, but a little strange anyway. Oh, and I also like Adventure.

FAVORITE COLOR: deep purple
FAVORITE FOOD: spicy combo sushi/after P.T. parmesan encrusted walleye (unfortunately, I can't have it anymore since I had my pancreas transplant surgery, since I'm immunosuppressed--I miss it!! (*whining*))
FIRST ROMANCE NOVEL: something by Judy Blume when I was eleven yrs, maybe
FAVORITE ROMANCE GENRE: Historical Romance or whatever I'm into at that moment. I'm liking ghosty kinds of romances right now.
I KNOW I'M A BOOK LOVER BECAUSE... I LOOOOOVE Goodreads and tend to lose track of time when i'm reading about books, planning the next ones I'll get or actually reading a book! My TBR pile is bigger than my places to put my books! I bring a bk every place I go, including to visit friends, appts., hospital, restaurant, I mostly stopped bringing them to movies-my friends got offended I brought a book--like it said something about them.
When I had to travel 4 hours away for my Pancreas Transplant surgery and planned to stay in that city for 3 wks (so I'd be right there if any complications happened--which they did). I brought a box and a bag full of bks and I ended up buying some books in that city during my recovery. I didn't read at all while there because recovery was soooo painful I took pain pills and slept.
Books are a security to me. I love the smell of paper, ink, the crispness and the pretty cover of a new book. Plus I still get books from the Library.
I probably have hundreds? many hundreds of books? in my little one bedroom apartment in Fargo, ND.
Can anybody relate?!

You will definitely have good company here, among us book addicts. : )
Hope you feel better soon.

Favorite Color: Purple (now) used to be Blue
Favorite Food: Almost anything that doesn't bite back
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Oh, man, I can't remember. When I was young my mom read the romance magazines (I don't think they even publish them anymore) like True Romance, etc. I know the first time that I read Gone With the Wind I wasn't very old. When I was around 10 or 11 I used to go to the Salvation Army and they had books for 10 cents (mostly old dusty hardbacks) but they would let me buy 10 for a dollar (they didn't make me pay tax) and many of those were romances. I went through a phase of reading the ones set in the Civil War times where one of the slaves would become the lover of the Mistress. Now I like both Contemporary and Historical Romance--for the historicals I still like the 1800s U.S. or Victorian England. I love Time Travel Romance. I also have been reading Amish and Mennonite settings (they are more love stories than sex stories if you know what I mean and I also find their culture interesting--don't want to live like they do but like to read about it).
Favorite Romance Genre: I think I just answered that in the paragraph above.
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because I buy books by the box not individually (one of my pet peeves is when I am at a bookstore buying a basket full of books and someone behind me will ask "are you going to read all of those?" I'm always tempted to say "no, I'm going to burn them in the fireplace" or something just as stupid). I have not just hundreds but thousands of books in my house that I own and I get library books every week. I usually have anywhere from 20-40 books checked out of the library at any given time. I have a very eclectic reading tastes, in other words I may be reading about almost anything at any given time. (You'll see as I make comments about books that I'm reading or if you go to my profile and look at the books I've got in My Books which aren't nearly all the books that I've read in my lifetime.) I am a book addict because I love books--old books or new books, big books or small books, in a wide variety of genres. I am partial to "real" books made of paper though rather than audio books or ebooks. I've never tried either of those last two. I'm afraid when my generation is gone that the paper book will fade away and that makes me very very sad. I am also like many of you, when I'm not reading I am on Goodreads talking about books. I love to find an author's email and write to them about their books and I love that almost all of them write back to me. I haven't gotten into blogging yet or really even following blogs (I'm too busy reading or being on Goodreads).

LOLOLOL, Denise! Welcome!

Favorite Color: Purple!
Favorite Food: Steak
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Wow haha...I think it was 'Tuck Everlasting', if you consider that romance. If not then I don't really remember...I was in 5th grade when Twilight first came out (way before it became popular) and I wasn't really a romance fan before that so I didn't like the book as much. I started avidly reading romance later on.
Favorite Romance Genre: Suspense, contemporary, fantasy, sometimes paranormal.
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... when I was a year and a half, I used to look at books for hours. I couldn't read yet but I would turn each page very carefully and if I skipped a page, I would start over. When I was three years old I spent all my days in preschool reading every book I could find. I'm also thinking about writing a book, haha. Wish me luck, I'll need it. ;) I carry a book everywhere and I have so many in my room that they cover the floors as well as the shelves. And that's it for now. :)

Hey, guys, I have some more 'splainin' to do. I decided to change my username to reflect my real name (I finally stopped hiding behind a pseudonym, I'm making progress).
Anyway, just wanted to let you know and apologize to the moderators for any inconvenience such a change might cause.
Mojca (formerly known as Alathea Wright)

I know I'm a book addict because I find time to read no matter what else is going on. Even if it means stealing five minutes in the bathroom. Not a day goes by that I don't read. To me reading is necessary for a happy, content life.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know and apologize to the moderators for any inconvenience such a change might cause.

First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): I know the first one I was head over heels for was Nora Roberts' Stanislaski series.
Favorite Romance Genre: Depends on the day, really. Lately I've been reading a lot of YA romance - first loves. <3
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... the thing I hear most often when people come into my house is "Have you read ALL these books?" Because when the kiddos in my life get the mail and there isn't a PBS book in the loot, they come in and say "Auntie: You didn't get a book today, I'm so sorry!" Because I finally have a dedicated space for all my books, but there isn't enough room for all my books. Because I don't understand how people manage to have beautifully stylish bookcases, because all my shelf space is needed for books. Because my TBR pile never really shrinks.
