Romance Readers Reading Challenges discussion

Hi Gemma! My ereader goes with me everywhere too! If I'm not reading, chances are I'm listening to a book!

Well my parent always catch me reading like every five minutes, they can never get me off my ipod(I have the iBooks app) I have to charge it every couple of hours cause I'm reading too much. Dad swears he is going to smash my iPod if I keep reading so much.

For me it is my iPhone, my hubby doesn't understand why I need to charge it every night. Seriously, I listen on it all day, get my GR notifications, read on it when I'm out and if I get the chance to sit while I'm listening I'm playing games on it too! Not to mention email, phone calls and texts! What I don't understand is how he only charges his once a week?!

MountainKat, I know what your talking about because my friend she only charges hers like twice a week while I'm charging mine every few hours and every night while I sleep. It's like it's never off my charger.

Hello, been in the group for awhile but have just come across this *waves*

Birthday: April 29
Favorite Color: green and purple (alternates almost daily)
Favorite Food: Anything basically, nothing really stands out...just don't have lima beans or tomato sauce.
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Hmmmmmm...yeah that's tough to decide
Favorite Romance Genre: paranormal romance...angels, demons, vampires, shifters, I'm not picky
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... I am constantly collecting books. I currently have an ebook collection of over 10,000 and I have several autographed books...that I have read previously several times. But my autographed books are well protected.

Hi Gianna! I think your ebook collection is more than double mine! Maybe even three times as large. I'm pretty sure I have more books than I will ever be able to read! Doesn't stop me from buying more though!!

I'm obsessed with collecting books. And I'm sure I won't ever read them all either. But I'm going to try! Between me and 2 other friends we have about 15,000. But since I'm a stay-at-home mom I have the bulk of them. I could start my own ebook library! LOL And there is no such thing as too many books either.

Oh no, there definitely isn't!! I believe the same is true for yarn and crochet patterns as well! And I haven't crocheted in a couple of years - I've still bought some patterns and yarn though! At least I keep reading. =)

Birthday is September 3; my favorite genres in romance include: paranormal, fantasy, scifi, urban, dark fantasy, vampire, futuristic, time travel, and etc; my favorite colors are: purple, black, pink, emerald green, sapphire blue, silvery gray, and golden yellow; my first romance read I was eleven (27 going on 28); my favorite foods are: comfort, italian, mexican, american, chinese, and japanese -- mainly sushi; I also love pizza. I am a book a holic and I have two cats.

I have 2 1/2 of those 30 gallon totes (I think they're 30 gallon) filled with yarn. I've even started designing my own patterns.

That is awesome Gianna! I feel like such a terrible grandma - I was a great aunty and made things for all my nieces and nephew, but by the time my kids started I had stopped crocheting as much. I really ought to fix that...

Hmmm, that was about the same time I got active here and involved in reading challenges! And my reading has doubled since then. The two just might be related!

I am both an avid reader and writer of romance.I'm always interested in learning about what readers find good and bad in the romance genre-I just got way too caught up in your discussion post about book covers that you hated!
My name is Haven Francis, I recently published two New Adult romance novels- Love Is Relative and Love Is Absolute.
My favorite color is red, my favorite food is sushi, Flowers in the Attic was the first romance novel I remember getting completely caught up in. New Adult/ College is definitely my favorite genre. I am a book addict for sure because I cook my family dinner with my nook in my hand and I spend every minute of my free time writing romance.

Hi Margaret, Marcus and Haven! I have stuff in common with all of you, but I will admit to hating some of your favorites too... But what we all have in common is being romance addicts! =)

Fish - can't swallow it! Any kind. If it comes out of water I can't eat it. So I don't like Haven's sushi either!

And while I wouldn't say grey is my favorite color, you wouldn't know it by looking in my closet! It sure seems to have a large place there.

Ok cool...and about fish you just don't know what you're missing...it's delicious, and so is shrimp. Maybe you just need the right right cook.

You know, I have told that all my life. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest where they know fresh fish. I went fishing with my dad and caught the fish and ate it that afternoon. My dad was a great cook. I've had fresh, I've had it cooked well. Nothing works. Can't swallow it!

So are you telling me that you can taste it but you can't swallow it? If so do you at least like what you taste when you do try it?

Of course MountainKat! Those devices fit in my purse so much better than a hardcover copy. And are great in line at the grocery store, waiting at the hairdresser, etc. And you don't loose your page when it's finally your turn!
