Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome to the group Sonya! Your issue of space is something I think a lot of us can relate to - although I've solved mine for the most part by going all ebooks and audiobooks now. (What an excuse ;)

message 2367: by Emerlyn (new)

Emerlyn (lilprincessem) Birthday: May 18
Favorite Color: Teal and Midnight Blue
Favorite Food: Chicken Fingers
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Twilight (Does that even count?? Hahaha)
Favorite Romance Genre: Paranormal Romance
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... Reading is the one hobby that stuck with me. It not only stuck, it’s become a full-grown obsession where I’ll cancel appointments to stay home, cooped up with a book. Because I will stay up night just to get to the ending because I know I won't be able to sleep until I get there. Because living in a fictional world is so much better than reality...

message 2368: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments LOL - great reasons to be a book addict Emmee! And I tried chicken fingers in Canada when I was there last year - we don't have them as a meal as such in Australia :)

That's so cool that you're from Australia! I've always wanted to visit there, but now that they don't have my staple food of chicken fingers I might have to reconsider.... hahahaha

message 2372: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Lol - we have the 'duck' aka 'Kentucky Fried Chicken' here. But otherwise - zip ;)

message 2373: by Emerlyn (new)

Emerlyn (lilprincessem) Jane (PS) wrote: "Lol - we have the 'duck' aka 'Kentucky Fried Chicken' here. But otherwise - zip ;)"

Ok, KFC I can definitely live off of. Do they have the delicious Mac and Cheese at your KFC?

message 2374: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments No - no Mac & Cheese. Just chicken pieces, chips etc, burgers and wraps I think :) Mac & cheese isn't popular over here. We know what you mean, but you'll never see it in a food outlet - you'd either make it from scratch or buy the prepackaged dry stuff in the supermarket!

message 2375: by Kate (new)

Kate Tate (katetate) My birthday is January 8.
Favorite Color is black.
Favorite food is italian.
First Romance Novel was Vampires are Forever by Lynsay Sands.
Favorite Romance Genre Paranormal Romance/erotica
I read books to get away from the crap and stress of High School, though I know its odd for a 17 year old to enjoy reading, but I have nothing else to do. Ask my friends and Im literally stuck at home, because my parents believe it will keep me safe. So I read and do homework, because it is the only thing i can control. I also play RPG games and play yugioh naruto and pokemon. No job and going to college next fall, so im hoping to find some way books to bring with me.

message 2376: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Hi Kate! Welcome to the group :) sounds like books give you your escape - my holidays through school were away from my friends, so I read a huge amount as a teenager. In the end I think it improved my English and writing skills immensely - so not all bad ;)

message 2377: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31622 comments I don't think it is wrong for a 17 year old to read so much either Kate! I know I was sneaking to stay up late to read when I was 12! It was a lot easier to recover from that at 12 than it is as you get older - so enjoy it while you can! Reading is the best escape there is!

message 2378: by Kate (new)

Kate Tate (katetate) thank you guys. A lot of kids at my school think im weird.

First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): THE WHITTAKERS SERIES BY ANNA DEPALO
Favorite Romance Genre: ROMANTIC SUSPENCE, PNR
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... I'd rather stay home and busy myself with what to read for the challenges rather than going out with my bf, even when I'm at work (sometimes).

message 2380: by ✩Tiffany✩ (new)

✩Tiffany✩ (_tiffany_) | 5 comments Birthday: 26 April
Favourite Colour: Don't have one!
Favourite Food: I like eating, don't have a favourite~
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): From my memory it was a high fantasy series that had romance in it, The Witches of Eileanan by Kate Forsyth
Favourite Romance Genre: it's always been fantasy and paranormal and sci-fi is making it's way in right now. I did go through a huge historical phase so that too... maybe some suspense and contemporary.
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... I'm running out of space physically and I'm afraid I would run out of space digitally.

message 2381: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome Ranzes and Tiffany!!

Ranzes - I love organising books for all the challenges so I know it's tempting to skip out on other activities - that need may reduce in a few years, but who knows ;)

Tiffany, I totally get being worried yr storage isn't enough! I bought an external hard-drive to make sure I didn't loose my books!

Favorite Food: Pizza
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): If I Stay
Favorite Romance Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Sweet
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because…. I carry a book everywhere I go. And I already have a bookshelf for all of my books. I do everything I can to buy a book I really wanted. It's been my routine to read at least 10 chapters of a book before going to bed

I'm sorry about that :( I just feel like reading in bed is much more comfortable because I feel more like inside the book's world rather than in my world-I feel like I just escaped reality.

message 2395: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I agree! It's WAAAY more comfy. *shrugs*

...And now its bedtime for me :) with very limited reading :(

message 2398: by Jo (new)

Jo Grafford (jografford) Birthday: May 16
Favorite Color: Black
Favorite Food: Does chocolate count?
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Sweet Valley High! Gah...I'm showing my age, aren't I?
Favorite Romance Genre: Contemporary Suspense
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because...I read and write way past my bedtime several nights a week even though I know I'll pay in sleep deprivation the following day, have no will power to walk away from a good book till the last page is finished, and get all twitchy if too much life happens and a few evenings pass without carving out time to read and write.

message 2399: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Hey Jo - chocolate always counts! LOL - I didn't read the SWH books growing up because my mother wouldn't let me, but they definitely around ;)

message 2400: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31622 comments I was thinking the same as Jane - chocolate always counts! I guess it would be showing my age to admit I'm too old for the SVH books...
