If you love pink then you might like the colors of my bedroom, because it's purple, pink and white striped with pink carpet

message 2454: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Favorite Color: I love all colors, but one shade in all of them is my favorite. For instance, in the color yellow, my favorite shade is Lemon; in pink, pale pink...

Favorite Food: Anything that makes me smile and say, "Yum, y'all."

First Romance Novel read: I can't remember, but I know it was a Harlequin.

Favorite Romance Genre: Wholesome HEA

I know I'm a book addict because I read everything. If I see paper lying on the ground, I will stand there and read it; If I see books on a shelf on a television show, I will try to read the titles instead of what's going on; When I was four, I read an entire shorthand manual.

Liz | 23 comments Birthday: March 14th
Favorite Color: Green
Favorite Food: Ice cream
First Romance Novel Read (that you can remember): Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood) by J.R. Ward
Favorite Romance Genre: Paranormal
Finished the line: I know I'm a book addict because on my phone I have over 800 books on ibooks and I fully intend to read them all. I read whenever I get a spare minute throughout the day and for at least an hour when I go to bed at night. Even if I don't like a book, I'll read it to the end because I'm worried something big will happen to change my mind and I'll have missed it if I stop.

I don't like to keep too many ebooks on my phone - it's clogged up with audiobooks!! ;)

I haven't tried audiobooks yet any good.

message 2464: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I love them! I'd go insane without audiobook since I do a huge amount of driving. I plug them in and just drive :)

Me too! A trip to the grocery store is at least an hour and a half round trip for me. I felt like I was just wasting time before I was introduced to audiobooks!

if I ever start to look in to audio books where would be the best place to get them from

message 2467: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments So true! And I knew every word to every music CD backwards and had run out of good new bands to listen to! Now - a new story with every trip ;)

message 2468: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I started using my local library. If you are in the U.S. I think there are some good freebie sites as well (online libraries - not pirate sites ;)

I now use audible pretty heavily. It's Amazon's audio website and they have some great whispersync deals ( the book in both audio and ebook).

message 2469: by MountainKat, Moderator (last edited Aug 11, 2015 08:48PM) (new)

MountainKat | 31610 comments I primarily use audible too - it is so easy! Some libraries, but mostly audible. They usually do trial memberships if you are thinking about it. But when looking at the whispersync deals, you need to remember to buy the Kindle book first before the audiobook to get the reduced price! (Sometimes even less the audiobook alone!) I do love immersion reading sometimes as well as the option to switch back and forth between reading and listening depending on what works better at the time.

message 2470: by Emerson (new)

Emerson Hawthorne | 157 comments Birthday: May 7
Favorite Color: cranberry
Favorite Food: sushi
First Romance Novel: Montana Sky by Nora Roberts
Favorite Romance Genre: all
Finish the line: I know I am a book addict because reading is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night. I sleep with my e-reader. I sometimes use the gym as an excuse to read.

Groovy Lee Jane (PS) wrote: "Welcome to the group Groovy, Sonal and Liz!

Thanks, Jane. How can you concentrate on driving with your audio book playing? I'd be so into the book's plot, I'd run off the road, or into somebody:) I need complete nothing when I read.

message 2472: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31610 comments Montana Sky was my first NR book, though not my first romance. It started my love of her family based series, or at least families of the heart if not blood. They still work for me today even though my reading world has expanded greatly!

Me too! I still read Nora Roberts on occasion but she truly does provide a great starting point into the genre.

Nah - it seems when I need to concentrate, I tune out the audiobook without even realising; when I find I've lost the thread of the story, inevitably all I've missed is a sentence! I no longer go back and replay if I think I've missed something - it never makes any difference ;)

message 2475: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Welcome Emmie :) I often decide to take the dog for a walk when I have hit a good part of an audiobook and need to hear more - along the same lines as your gym option ;O

message 2479: by Groovy (last edited Aug 17, 2015 12:22PM) (new)

Groovy Lee I love e-readers, too. But I still have a dream of one day turning a room into a library with books on all four walls. I want a library like the one in the movie, "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". I don't know if anyone has ever seen that movie, but it was beautiful.

I love books (that's why I write so much) I love holding them, and handling them. It's an entirely different world when you walk into a book store and there's nothing but books on shelves.

If I ever have to get stuck somewhere, let it be in a bookstore--with my favorite food, of course:)

I know what you mean Groovy. I have an admiration for libraries like that. My ideal library, throughout most of my life, has been the library in Beauty and the Beast.

message 2493: by Groovy (last edited Nov 29, 2015 08:46PM) (new)

Groovy Lee Maybe we should show them how it could be if the alternative were gambling, drug, or alcohol addictions, or instead of giving a lot of your attention to books, it's to the good looking neighbor next door, or at work:) I think they'd be a lot more thankful after that!

message 2494: by Janina (new)

message 2497: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31610 comments I fall asleep with my kindle or phone, but usually because I was trying to read too late! Not that I don't usually start reading soon after rising... =P

message 2498: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I wish I could get away with that! Hubby grumbles if the light is on and he's trying to sleep :(

message 2499: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31610 comments I only read if he is already asleep and snoring! Reading tends to only occur in the middle of those sleepless nights. I've taken to setting a sleep timer and listening though as I try to go to sleep - much easier than holding the phone up to try to read and getting sore. I don't get the tired eyes that make it easy to shut them and go to sleep, but it still works.

message 2500: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I love listening to audio but it keeps me awake and my brain engaged. I tried the timer but found I was wide awake when the audio shut off :)
