Brenda Clough (brendaclough) | 147 comments Does your local library lend e-books? If not, why not? Maybe they should join the 21st century and start. I would be interested to learn what your local library does.

Send them this article:
http://www.thedigitalshift.com/2012/0...

It is from a library-industry magazine. -Some- of us are anxious to work with libraries!!!

Librarymouse | 2 comments My library lends ebooks through Overdrive. Pretty convenient! Their selection was quite sparse until last year (originally, it was almost entirely self-help books), but they're gradually building it up.

I would love to have this in my library. The only problem is that my library system is very small so we don't have a lot of funds. I will look into the article and send it to the librarians

stormhawk | 75 comments My local library lends ebooks. I've been using the system since it went live for Kindle in Fall 2011. There is usually a long wait for new or popular books, but I have plenty of other things to read while I'm waiting. Because of the waiting lists I rarely "keep" an ebook the whole length of the lending period and "return" them as soon as I'm finished.

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) | 96 comments Yes, I have access to two local libraries that use the overdrive system (epub and mobi/kindle)

Love it!
