The Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado Springs was 6200 acres last night and has more than doubled to 15,000 acres overnight. There is no telling how many homes have been destroyed so far. About 30,000 people have been evacuated.
There are about 10 more fires currently burning, 7 of them large active fires, including another near Boulder that caused a few hundred evacuations last night. Colorado is not the only state suffering from fires this dry season. There are fires in New Mexico and other states. Please keep everyone affected by every fire in your thoughts, especially those with homes in their paths and the brave firefighters who are working tirelessly to save as much as possible.
:(
I just heard about this on the news today. I hope you and your family are safe.
Have they gotten the fire controlled to some degree? I heard it was spreading 20 miles and hour(if I heard correctly).

I've been following it because we have family in Colorado Springs. We have family all over Colorado actually, but those are the only ones close to the fires. We are going to be there next month...
There are 11 fires burning here right now (give or take one or two in direction). There's a huge one that has burned almost 90,000 acres that's been going for a couple of weeks now, and I thought it was going to be the worst this year. But a fire started in Colorado Springs on Saturday morning. It isn't nearly as big, but the winds picked up and went crazy today and the fire started jumping and is burning a lot of homes. 32,000 people have been evacuated so far, and it will probably get worse. :(
It's up to 6200 acres and is only 5% contained.
Heartbreaking.
