You are so kind! Thank you for your encouragement. I am participating in a read-a-thon for another group, so I have been able to knock off a few books this week. It has been so much fun, and I have loved reading all of my books!

I know how that goes. Almeta and I both really involved in the topplers here and now we've joined ANOTHER challenge. Yes, we're crazy!

This is so true! LOL.

I had to recalculate my scores. I was not counting the number of pages below 200 correctly. I hope that does not cause trouble for whomever is keeping up with our scores.

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Judy, I am new and have never done a toppler. Is this a 24 hour deal? Are you doing Asia?Seems like I read that somewhere. I want to read Anna Karenina for a book of 900 or more pages. (I think.) I feel pretty confident that I can read it in 24 hours. However, if there is something else you want me to do for the team, I am all set.

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments You know we have to gear up for more than that (475) on the day of the toppler! However, I may need to reconsider my goal. I may have been overly optimistic. LOL
I have never done a toppler before, so I'm not sure what to expect.

You two are so sweet and so good for my ego! It always needs a little boost now and then. ; ) Thanks a million! I notice that you two are really hitting the books hard and moving those cute little tickers at a steady pace!! : ) Happy Reading!

Or we could get a new rule for Connie only that her books have to be at least 600 pages. It might slow her down just a little :D

That was my first Toppler and I had to prove I could hang with the rest of you ☺

Should we have a pool for how many pages Connie will read? (no pressure Connie, we're all amazed and envious).

Debra, have you been holding out on me, too? I bet you have a record somewhere of 900 pages in one day, also! LOL ; )

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments You know, I should keep track this time. I usually read 3 books and it's likely they add up to more than 900 pages. We'll see.

As far as toppler goes, I can't think of a 900 page book I want to read. Any suggestions?

I am really going to hate it if I let you down on the Toppler. I understand, Jaxnsmom! A lot of pressure for the team. LOL. Hope you do it again on the 18th!

But you are all so funny. I am sure I just have a little more spare time to read.

I know there are some really long Steven King books that you love.

Oh, but I had to stay up 24 hours and read, read, read to get that total. I had to work for it. I do pretty good in a month, but part of that is I get to listen to books between 4 and 7 hours a day at work :)

message 98: by Ava Catherine (last edited Aug 03, 2012 12:47PM) (new)

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Are you a librarian? That is so neat that you get to listen to books at work! I am so visual that I have never gotten into audio books, I do wish they worked like print for me since it would be such a nice change.

I am worried about my endurance for 24 hours. That is a long time to stay awake and read. Maybe if I keep the tea brewing, that will help. ; )

message 99: by Debra (new)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments I read Hawaii a long time ago. It was worth the long investment. Great historical fiction.

I'm considering reading for the 3 or 4 time The Stand by Stephen King. It's over 900 pages, and has a indigo version that would work for my rainbow, orginally published before 1980.

My biggest problem is that all I really want to read are orange books. However, I'd also like to make some good points for my Toppler team. Decisions, decisions, decisions....

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Which team are you on, Debra? North America? Is Lonesome Dove something you might want to read? I thought about rereading it. I am not sure if the cover is yellow or orange. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry Of course, the first edition is yellow, but I don't know what the second one would qualify as. I guess it would not work.
