Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments It is hey? Although there is a John Steinbeck novel on that list. John Steinbeck and I don't talk.

Maybe we could adapt it sometime for a monthly...

message 427: by Ava Catherine (new)

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Oh, John Steinbeck's East of Eden is fantastic. The Red Pony that Matilda reads isn't my favorite, but it is so short. And we always have choices in challenges, right?

It could be a part of a challenge maybe...

Interesting anyway...

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Ha ha! Don't you love Kathy Bates? Her supermarket scene is hilarious! LOL

I bet you will enjoy the book since you loved the movie! I read the book when it first came out and LOVED it; however, that was so long ago I had forgotten almost everything. It was a joy to read it again! : )

Maybe you can find a copy at a used bookstore since it is so old. Happy reading!!!

message 443: by Ava Catherine (last edited Nov 28, 2012 11:57PM) (new)

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Absolutely, Judy! LOL! Nicely done! ; )
I do feel like an insane reader sometimes when I am looking for a violet book with violet flowers on the cover or a yellow book cover set somewhere beginning with I. I get CRAZY!! And begin to attack!! LOL

Janice, I'll be seeing rainbows long after this challenge is over! I wonder if I'll ever choose a book without looking at the color of the cover again?! LOL

AmyK, I wish! : ) You give me too much credit!

Thing Two, I don't watch tv or do other usual entertaining things...reading is my entertainment (other than the gym). I try to read every day, and it adds up over time. I have more free time than many people do, so that helps, also.

message 444: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I only have one orange book to read and I will have 2 complete rainbows and I will be happy, but I agree with you, Connie, about the color of the covers!

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments I am at that burnout phase, too. I have been looking for something new and fresh, which YA seems to nail. Fortunately, I had From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E. Frankweiler on a bookshelf left over from my son's youth! (It was just begging to be reread! I consider anything on a bookshelf in my home a tbr! lol) I am now raiding his bookcase for other great books! LOL

Hey, a girl's gotta do what works! : )
