((I'll rp with you in the trails))
Gem lead the way into the barn. Kelly had walked down to the barn with Delta, feeling her way along everything and envisioning the camp as Delta had described where things were.
In stall 7 stood a gray dappled appendix mare who went by the name Read Between the Lines, or Pages. Pages tossed her head at the sound of Kelly's voice, whinnying and nearly startling Gem. She nickered and bobbed her head. She made a shrill wicker, which she was trained to do by Kelly to let her know she was there.
Kelly urged Gem forward. Gem barked and sat down, not wanting to go any nearer to the horses. Kelly stomped her foot, angry with herself. I can't believe I left my cane in the dorm! Stupid, stupid, stupid...
She shook it off and let go of Gem. "Steady, Gem. Stay, girl." Kelly grabbed hold of the side of the stall door and started to walk along the wall, feeling the engraved numbers for the blissful strokes of the number 7. As she got closer, she heard Pages' noises and smiled. She finally reached the stall, but fumbled with the door.
"Don't worry, Pages. I just need to get this stall door open..."

Kelly stepped back, her gaze distant and unfocused. She simply nodded and gave a cold, "Thank you." Why was I so stupid? Leaving my cane in the dorm...

Kelly tensed at the comment. "I'm fine, thanks," she replied stiffly. She reached forward and pushed the door aside slowly. She reached out blindly and moved forward carefully. Page noticed Kelly and moved her nose over, narrowly avoiding Kelly's head. Kelly found pages nose and rubbed her moisturized hand on the soft skin of Pages' nose.
"I missed you, baby Pages. How's my Prancer-girl been?"
"I missed you, baby Pages. How's my Prancer-girl been?"

Kelly was looking directly past Pages head to her shoulders. She walked over and felt her hand along Pages' muscular neck and to the tip of her shoulder where she found what she felt. She had sensed pain in Pages and now found why. "Have those mean ponies been ganging up on my Prancer-girl?"
There was a deep gash in her shoulder. Kelly could wedge the tip of her fingers barely into the cut and felt Pages shutter with pain. She quickly removed her fingers, now grazed with blood, and wiped them on her jeans. She felt her way around and to the other side of the stall door to find Pages' bridle on the other side. She fiddled with it and found the clip to the reins. Unhooking the reigns, she took them back into the stall.
Pages knew what was going on. She perked her ears and nickered wildly. Kelly made hushing noises as she clipped the reigns on either side of the halter and unclipped the crimson lead rope from under Pages' neck. She slowly led Pages out of the stall and over to a small step ladder outside of the barn, feeling her way along for she had forgotten her cane.
"Are you ready, Prancer-girl?"

Kelly swung the reigns up and over Pages' head. She stepped tentatively up the step ladder and rested her hand on her horse's back. She ran her fingers across her back, feeling her way down her back. She set her hands at the base of Pages' back and pushed up, swinging herself over and onto her back.
Pages nickered and took a step forward, nearly throwing Kelly off balance. Kelly sat up and took the reigns in her right hand. She pulled right, directing Pages into a tight circle. Pages walked herself into a cross tie and Kelly slumped forward onto Page's shoulder, laying on her stomach across Pages back. She awaited another rider to go with her so she could go to the pastures and run. She couldn't wait, but had to.

Cassidy turned Rose back towards the trails. "Let's go girl!"

Delta laughed. She grabbed the bright green halter from a peg on the wall and slid it onto Allegro's head. She grabbed a dark blue lead rope and clipped it to the halter. "Bareback or saddle?" Allegro shook her mane. "Bareback, I agree Legs."
Allegro took the lead in hand and led the mare out of her stall. She grabbed a blanket from the corner of the stall and laid it on Allegro's back for extra comfort. She passed Kelly and Pages on the way. "Do you want to come with me and Allegro to the pastures?"
Kelly bolted up right. She looked around, trying to register where the voice had come from. Pages took the liberty of swinging herself around to face another horse that was bigger than she was, but that she was not afraid of.
"Hey -- Oh, thanks, Pages," Kelly said, patting the young mare's neck. "A trail ride, you say?"

Pages snorted in Allegro'a general direction, kind of warning him to keep his distance. Watch it, mister, she seemed to say.
Kelly smiled and nodded. "Sure, but you lead the way. Pages'll follow. This isn't like my ranch back home. I don't know where the heck I am." She cleared her throat and said boldly, "Walk on, Pages."
Pages nickered softly in response and promptly started to walk up behind Delta and Allegro.

Kelly stared blankly ahead, unaware of the other girl. "Who?" She said, sounding somewhat startled. She sighed. "I don't want a lot of people on the trail ride...because it's my first time out and I really only need a guide..."
Aspen Adams sauntered down the halls of the barn, nervous as all the ruckus took place. Yet, she still held her head high and looked fierce. Walking up to stall number eleven, she made her way inside, alone with her beauty. Aspen took her red hair and dragged back into a ponytail. She was dressed like a western rider, but had no intentions of doing anything of the sort.
Bonnie snorted and tossed her head, eager to get a move on. Aspen giggled and came over to feed Bonnie a carrot. Bonnie's soft lips carefully caressed the baby carrot until murderously snapping it in half and munching away. Aspen smiled and, after tying up Bonnie, pivoted to face the stall door to head to the tack room and grab her saddle and bridle.

Tobin, Delta's older brother, jumped slightly as she squealed his name. Slightly embarrassed of having an overly excited younger sister squawking his name, he just waved and to go back to his dorm. As he turned he bumped into a fierce-looking red haired girl walking away from her horse. He gasped slightly and held out a hand to steady her. "Whoops, sorry."

Kelly took a deep breathe as Pages started walking forward. Pages turned her head back to make sure Kelly was okay when she felt her move her hand to steady herself. Kelly sat up straight and cleared her throat. "Where are we going?" she asked, fully relying on Delta for directions.
Aspen squealed as she was hit from the side and from behind while walking to the tack room. She looked up and first made out the figure of a young man. She twitched a smile, quickly hiding it as the thought crossed her mind even for a second. She took his outstretched hand and forced herself up. "Sorry..." she mumbled. She looked up and met his eyes, his soft eyes. She blinked once to keep herself from thinking any further. He's just going to break your heart, Aspen. As if that hasn't already happened enough..

Tobin pulled her up and looked at the ground shyly. He didn't like talking to girls, it made him edgy and nervous. He studied the ground and shuffled his feet selfconciously. "Sorry," he mumbled.
Kelly nodded, as if she had heard what Delta had said. She lurched forward as Pages took a small jump-step forward onto the grass. Slowing down, Pages nickered and checked on Kelly. Kelly gave a curt nod and said, "Go."
Aspen nodded. "I'm Aspen. See you around, okay?" She turned to Rhine and sighed. "What's your problem?" she said, a narrow edge in her voice. She kept walking into the tack room, ready to grab her stuff and go practice.

Tobin glanced up as the girl left in a storm. Deep inside he felt hurt and his dislike of conversing with girls deepened. He turned on heel and walked silently towards his dorm.
Aspen rolled her eyes dramatically and gave Rhine a glare. "You're not the only one things to do around here," she retorted in a snark tone. She turned her back and whipped open her chest, flinging up the lid, but putting p her hand to stop it before it slammed open. She lifted out a small basket of brushes and swung a dark, mahogany-colored bridle over her shoulder. She settled her saddle on her left arm, the girth sidled between the stirrups. She reached over slowly and popped the trunk lid closed.
Kelly heard Allegro pick up pace and urged Pages on with a small nudge of her heels. Pages took two steps, letting Kelly find a grip on her long mane, and then dove into a fast-paced trot. Kelly squeezed her knees in and began the tiring endeavor of posting. She had the reigns in hand, guiding Pages wherever she heard Allegro's footsteps fall.
((Go to the trails.))

Aspen gave an exasperated sigh. She looked at Rhine and narrowed her eyes. "I have no interest in talking right now. But if you must know, I'm Aspen Adams." She turned around immediately, not looking for a reply, and walked out of the tack room to Bonnie's stall.
Aspen was becoming somewhat annoyed with this girl, mainly because of her intent on friendship. She was not as easy to get to know as most people. She had had a rough childhood, being abandoned and feeling abused. "How about you let me tack up Bonnie without any of this jabber? That sounds fine with me," Aspen said, making a point about not wanting to talk. She set everything down and quickly retied Bonnie's quick-release knot. She took out a curry comb and moved her hand in swift circles. She began to whisper to Bonnie, "Vous êtes un beau cheval, Bonnie. Vous êtes ma fille spéciale."
Aspen continued mumbling softly in French to Bonnie, saying things like "Bella Bonnie," and "Ma fille magnifique bébé." Aspen quickly finished currying her horse and went to take a hard brush to Bonnie's body after putting away the curry comb. She brushed over Aspen with haste and went back over the trunk for a hoof pick.
Aspen finished grooming Bonnie, having brushed over her again and and combed through her mane. She walked over to her stuff and picked up her fluffy purple pad that looked bright against Bonnie's chestnut coat. Aspen placed it as so, making it perfect. She walked back to grab her saddle.
