What lessons do you think the publishing industry can learn from the music industry in dealing with digital transition and disintermediation?
And for a less inside-baseball question: what else are you working on now? Will there be a sequel to Year Zero?
How did you come up with such an amazing concept?And
Is/Was there a specific "point" or "moral of the story" that you wanted to make/get across?

Why did you choose the music industry in particular as your focus for the novel?
Mr. Reid,You are widely known as a critic of traditional publishers and their claims regarding the damage attributed to internet piracy. Why have you then chosen a traditional publisher, with a traditional publishing model, for your book? How would you react to people illegally distributing copies of it?
So, based on the prologue excerpt, why are the Refined League only interested in 70s rock and disco music and TV themes? Did they never stumble across a classical or jazz station? Did they ever heard a sitar or Middle Eastern theme played by a British blues-rock band and wonder why it sounded so different from other rock music?
