Andi (agunforhire) | 34 comments Wow, I am in awe of all of your high numbers! :o Incredible!

I keep checking the spreadsheet to see if I've missed any... :D
I'm currently at 46 books and trying to read 2-3 a month. This group is such a great motivator.

Bucket | 248 comments I finally hit 200 this week with Lives of Girls and Women. Woohoo!

It seemed to take forever to get to 200, but maybe that's because #199 was A Dance to the Music of Time...

Congratulations on both reaching 200 and completing A Dance to the Music of Time. Both are big milestones!

Jamie Barringer (Ravenmount) (ravenmount) | 48 comments I am at 354 now. My most recent completed list book was Threepenny Novel, by Brecht, and I also have been listening to a bunch of Iain Banks novels, some of which are on the List. Last month I also led the discussion on The Glass Bead Game, by Hesse, for another group, but since I've already read it about a dozen times, I can't count that one as a new completed List book.
The Elegance of the Hedgehog was pretty good. The Wasp Factory was disappointing.

That's too bad. It's on my VSTBR list.

Sandy (Ms Reads A Lot) (msreadsalot1001) | 3 comments 258! I set a goal to try and read one per week. It will only take me around 16 more years to finish the list!

I am also having trouble finding some of the books. The Ballad For Georg Henig is rated highly on goodreads but finding it has been a problem. Library -no, Amazon-no, audible - no. I was able to find a paperback from an unknown seller for $145!! But haven’t ordered it.

Congratulations!

Regarding A Ballad for Georg Henig, I had to get that book through InterLibrary Loan (ILL). Check with your library to see if they offer that service. It will connect you to World Cat and you can request books from libraries all over the world (depending on what your library offers).

A Ballad for Georg Henig is a very good book.

I believe I got A Ballad for Georg Henig from the University library here. Not being a student or faculty, my privileges are suspended there now due to the pandemic.

I am hoping to reach 100 titles authored by women before the end of the year.

That‘s a great goal! I‘m currently at about 125 books written by women and plan to read 20 more this year so that I‘ll have read half of the titles authored by women by the end of the year.

Awesome job and great goal! Its sad that there aren't more list books authored by women.

I saw many movies growing up when it was only a dime or a quarter to get in, my Mom must have thought it was cheaper than a babysitter!

Likewise I'm not really certain if I read a full or abridged version of The Three Musketeers when I was a teenager. It's more than 500 pages unabridged and I don't think I ever read any books that long when I was young so I plan on reading it eventually.

There are several editions, each with 1001 books but some books change. I would guess your longer count was from a list combining all books that have been in any edition (a total of 1,315 I think).

message 1832: by Florafox (new)

Florafox | 1 comments that's the one (the 1300+ list) that I used for my check off, and still only came in at 88. I think that fully 2/3 of those were from undergrad years or before, so its about time to get restarted!

Linda_G (yhgail) | 20 comments I’ve finished about 117, but I am still working on figuring out the number.

No many how many books you’ve read, July is a good month to back up your Goodreads library. Go to “My Books”, at the bottom left find import export, click and at the top of the page is the option to export your library.
