How many of the 1001 books have you read?

It seemed to take forever to get to 200, but maybe that's because #199 was A Dance to the Music of Time...

Congratulations on both reaching 200 and completing A Dance to the Music of Time. Both are big milestones!

Fantastic!! Keep up the good work.

The Elegance of the Hedgehog was pretty good. The Wasp Factory was disappointing.

I am also having trouble finding some of the books. The Ballad For Georg Henig is rated highly on goodreads but finding it has been a problem. Library -no, Amazon-no, audible - no. I was able to find a paperback from an unknown seller for $145!! But haven’t ordered it.

Congratulations!
Regarding A Ballad for Georg Henig, I had to get that book through InterLibrary Loan (ILL). Check with your library to see if they offer that service. It will connect you to World Cat and you can request books from libraries all over the world (depending on what your library offers).

I believe I got A Ballad for Georg Henig from the University library here. Not being a student or faculty, my privileges are suspended there now due to the pandemic.

I am hoping to reach 100 titles authored by women before the end of the year.

That‘s a great goal! I‘m currently at about 125 books written by women and plan to read 20 more this year so that I‘ll have read half of the titles authored by women by the end of the year.

Likewise I'm not really certain if I read a full or abridged version of The Three Musketeers when I was a teenager. It's more than 500 pages unabridged and I don't think I ever read any books that long when I was young so I plan on reading it eventually.

There are several editions, each with 1001 books but some books change. I would guess your longer count was from a list combining all books that have been in any edition (a total of 1,315 I think).

This thread is probably your best resource to answer that question.

No many how many books you’ve read, July is a good month to back up your Goodreads library. Go to “My Books”, at the bottom left find import export, click and at the top of the page is the option to export your library.

*8/1/21: Right now, I have 202 books completed. I'm working on numbers 203 and 204 with House of Leaves (Mark Z. Danielewski) and Arrow of God (Chinua Achebe). :)

I keep checking the spreadsheet to see if I've missed any... :D
I'm currently at 46 books and trying to read 2-3 a month. This group is such a great motivator.
