Pandemonium
question
Title: Requiem

what can you say about the last book's title, Requiem?
Me, when I heard about the title I was like why is the title like that? Is there someone who will die during or after the book? And if so, who will that be?
What is your point of view for the title?
(Lauren Oliver's titles were REALLY interesting!)

I know Oliver's titles are REALLY interesting ha-ha.
Since Requiem has to do with dying and mourning I think they're will be a big war with the "invalids" and the cured and a lot of people will die during the war. I personally think Julian is going to die because him with all those tumors but Lauren Oliver never goes where you think she will go so who knows but that's what I think.

Either Julian or Alex will die to set the love triangle straight, IMO.
I think requiem stands for the opposition bringing down the Cured system. Since there seem to be lots of Biblical references that get tied into society, it would be like a mass for society and for love.
I think honestly she was just trying to make it rhyme. But obviously I think the book will have A LOT of death in it.
can't wait to see what lauren has in store for us. she has a tendency of making twisted turns. whats the worst, most unthinkable thing that will happen in the next book? double it by 10. and that is what lauren oliver will do. god help us lol
I honestly don't think Alex is going to die. We've gotten too connected with him for Lauren Oliver to kill him off. Julian has to die. The world will be right again whe Julian is dead.
I think we all may be missing what we are saying Ms.Oliver never dose whats expected or norm sooo that leads me to believe we may lose our main character endeding the series with another tear jerker
I think that the title means like the death of the cure and believing love is a disease. But I'm open to it being Julian's death too. :)
I think that unless Julian suddenly takes on a huge role in Requiem, I don't feel like the final book is necessarily named after his predicted death. I also read somewhere that Lauren says there is not going to be a love triangle in Requiem...? True? I feel like in Delirium, Lena & Alex were obviously such prominent figures throughout the book. However in Pandemonium, Lena toughens up into someone we hardly recognize as being the same person in Delirium. I feel like Julian didn't really hold much of his own throughout Pandemonium, sort of more of a supporting role rather than a partner role, as Alex was.
I agree that Requiem could definitely mean the fall of the Cured system. But that still leaves the question...
IS THERE A CURE FOR THE CURE?! How can they take down the Cured system if they've already MESSED WITH EVERYONE'S BRAINS? Something to ponder :(

I have a few points speculating on the possibilities on which boy Lena will end up with, if you will. Please bear with me; I was putting my thoughts down in a rush as they came to me.
1.) Either Julian or Alex may end up dying in the inevitable revolution, leaving the survivor to be the one with Lena.
2.) Other Death Possibilities…
Foreshadowing?
A.)Lena believing whole heartedly that Alex was dead. Maybe he’ll actually die trying to save her.
B.)Julian almost dying when he was a child. Maybe he’ll die because of the cancer, if it has come back.
3.) Lauren Oliver’s boyfriend passed away. And she said that she recovered from it, despite how hurt she was afterwards. Maybe she’ll incorporate her life experience to…
A.) Make Lena move on from her feelings of Alex with Julian’s help. She believes that she isn’t who she used to be after all.
B.) Make Lena recover from thinking Alex is dead and return to loving him like she used to.
4.) Alex may have become a different person, someone Lena can’t love anymore maybe, or she decides that she loves Julian more. Basically, Lena chooses Julian. Rare love triangle; it seems unlikely. Love doesn’t always go as planned is the message to readers.
5.) Lena still loves Alex as much as she did before, and disregards her love for Julian. Making it your typical love triangle, in which the winner is the first person who loved the girl. True love prevails through every hardship is the message to readers.
6.) Julian sees that despite the fact that Lena likes him, Lena still loves Alex deeply and will let go of her. Thus, Lena and Alex happen.
7.) Somehow Hanna had been in the group of sympathizers who helped the prisoners of the Crypt escape and she runs into Lena and everyone else. She and Julian fall in love, maybe? Thus, conveniently removing him from the Julian/Lena/Alex love triangle.
8.) Both Julian and Alex die. Lena is forever alone.
9.) Lena is killed in the revolution. The end.
I had to suppress my feelings while I typed this up. I truly hope neither boy dies. I… wouldn’t be able to handle it…I…can’t…no…
