Juliana (julezrussell) Hi guys! Okay, so I'm a Reading Buddy at the library near me, and basically what we do it help younger kids become more interested in reading during their own time and just help them out in general with their reading.
So like, say my little buddy is going into 3rd grade and likes super heroes. We just read to him about his interest and involve them, asking them questions, switching off pages, etc. We also play games with them and a lot of fun stuff, the only problem is that my certain buddy just is so so sooo shy! I was wondering if any of you guys had an awesome game that involved something to do with reading that involved speaking or movement besides acting it out or such, just something fun to try to get him to enjoy himself a lot more! He's really quiet, maybe something involving other little buddies too. Any ideas?

And maybe if anyone has reccomendations for little kiddies who like The Teacher from the Black Lagoon (Black Lagoon, #1) by Mike Thaler Those type of books, he LOVES them. Anyone?

Kate (fictionalkate) Maybe try drawing his own illustrations for an extra unwritten chapter in the book?

And then he has to explain to you what's happening in the scene that he's done?

Juliana (julezrussell) That's a great idea! I'll try it out when I see him. Thank you!

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 374 comments I have a book series suggestion, it is more fantasy vs. superhero, but it's designed for a 'younger' audience.

Fablehaven (Fablehaven, #1) by Brandon Mull Rise of the Evening Star (Fablehaven, #2) by Brandon Mull Grip of the Shadow Plague (Fablehaven, #3) by Brandon Mull Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary (Fablehaven, #4) by Brandon Mull Keys to the Demon Prison (Fablehaven, #5) by Brandon Mull

My husband and I read the entire series
