John Richardson (RichardsonJohnD) | 4 comments I am looking for the appropriate place to display an article on an outside site about a book. What is the best way to do this?

John Richardson (RichardsonJohnD) | 4 comments The link to the article is http://www.christianpost.com/news/sma...

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments This sort of thing isn't part of the book record itself, so it's not something that a librarian can help with. You might want to ask in the GR Authors' group for some tips on offering links in author reviews or blog posts.

Sarah (saritz) | 157 comments I think the purpose of providing a link in a book entry here in GR is to give the reader a chance to see extra information about the book like an excerpt, or author's musing about the book, book inspirations, etc. That's what pops up anyway in the tool tip on the url form whenever you edit a book's parameters.

The link you have provided though is about a project the author's project he is involved in and the article just stated that he is the author of such book. Correct me if I'm wrong but the article does not pertain additional information about the book but more about the author's extracurricular works. (But kudos to that church. That's charity in the purest sense of the word.)

John Richardson (RichardsonJohnD) | 4 comments Thanks for the info Sarah! It looks like you're exactly right about the book excerpts, inspiration, etc. And that's really why I thought this would be a good link. The book grew out of this project that the article covers. So, it's kind of a "behind the scenes" look at how the book began.

That does help clarify some things for me, though. Thanks!

But it was an article written a third-person not the author himself. I think if he has a website and then make a specific page of that book and then write this stuff himself then that web page could be linked to the book's url.

I really get what you're trying to do here. It's great you want to share this article to everyone who glanced at the book but sad to say it's not for the book's url. Why don't you try to post it to the reviews section. With the proper introduction, I think you can link that article on your review.
