Fans of Interracial Romance discussion

I read a book back in the late 90's/ early 2000 that was a historical IR novel. The setting was WWII time period (I think), and the main couple was BW/WM. I believe the title had the word "embers" in it. That was the first IR romance novel that I read, then I didn't read any more for years. The fact that I can't recall the title frustrates me.

I never read the book Michelle, but there is an interracial pairing in the book.
