Jacob Prytherch | 6 comments The book cover presented was the one I initially used which contains a NASA image (which was available to use for commercial use if they were credited). I have since changed to public domain image more fitting with the book (which is now on amazon where the book is purchased). Can the new cover be uploaded, or can I have permission to change the picture?
Thanks, Jake Prytherch

Darkpool It totally shouldn't have the current image on this site as that is clearly sourced from Amazon.
Usually if the book has been available with a particular cover, we don't change the image on Goodreads if it is republished with a different cover; instead we make an alternate cover edition. I'm not sure if that rule holds for kindle editions...? It may be prudent to wait until someone with more of a clue about ebooks than I have responds.

Krystal109 | 1086 comments There is also no ASIN for this book (please supply this for us HERE, since we can't use it from Amazon even if you say it's correct). Can you please supply a link to a non-bookseller website of both the current and new book cover.

Possible links are the publishers website, an authors website, or you can upload your own images to your profile, imgur, etc.

Jacob Prytherch | 6 comments The book is published solely on kindle for the moment, published through KDP (Kindle direct publishing), though I will soon be approving a proof in paperback. The only ASIN I have is the one that they gave me, on the site (B00857DL5G). I have a copy of the image of the new cover, should I just upload this to my profile? Can it be used that way?
Thanks,

Jake

Jacob Prytherch | 6 comments I've uploaded the image to my profile, is that ok?

message 6: by Krystal109 (new)

Krystal109 | 1086 comments Yea we can use it from there, once we get the okay from someone who knows more about replacing/making new editions for kindle editions. You will probably have to wait until the afternoon tomorrow to get a reply. I will update the ASIN now.

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments I'll add an alternate cover edition for you. Here you go.
I deleted the cover of the original because it is obviously sourced from Amazon (it had that "click to look inside" image).

Edit: Found the original cover in a higher resolution, and uploaded.

Oh, and while there is a discussion going on about whether ebooks should have alternate cover editions or not currently we still add them.

Jacob Prytherch | 6 comments Excellent! Thank you very much!

Jacob Prytherch | 6 comments Just noticed the original cover in higher resolution. Is it ok to remove this and simply have the other cover as the confirmed cover? If I use that cover I have to include a disclaimer in my book and while it's ok to do that (NASA don't mind commercial use) the book as it's sold now does not contain that disclaimer. If the cover could just be the red blood cells cover, that would be great.

Thanks

Jake

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Was the book ever published with the NASA cover? If so we will leave it on our database. Users want to shelve the exact edition/cover they read. If it was never available with the NASA image we will remove it.

Jacob Prytherch | 6 comments Oh I see. Yes, it was originally. That's alright then, I just didn't want to get into beef with NASA! As long as people add the correct one from now on I think I'll be ok. Thanks!
