Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

You have arrived! (but then we knew that!) Who has the white gloves? Katie needs them.

Wherever Sierra shopped for those gloves.
I'm patiently waiting my turn for the white gloves with the mother of pearl buttons...

If not, I'm stealing this from the page to which you linked: http://www.absoluteties.com/150ch.html
We can cut the fingers off and Andre can supply the mother of pearl buttons...er, studs.

Andre, you're welcome to the white gloves with the mother-of-pearl buttons any time you like them. But don't forget, these studded gloves are for me to wear when I meet my teenage fans. One doesn't want to appear an old fuddy-duddy with teenagers.

Andre is royalty (literally: check "the Jutes" in the Encyclopedia Brittanica; they were the Kings of Kent) but he's so light-skinned, he wears black leather dress gloves whenever he leaves the house. Very butch.
I looked at patterns for gloves. Bloody hell! I thought I could sew, but I won't be attempting gloves.

Oh drat - I'm going to be late to the cookoff. No electtric, so I'm taking my nook.

The royalty has yet to weigh in...

Sorry, I came in before, but was so overwhelmed by the thought of Andre in black leather dress gloves and tiara that I had to leave for a recuperative tipple.
Andre, my children will tell you, I am the Queen of Dragons when the mood hits me. Just don't rub my scales the wrong way.

You could say I'm making my 'Mark'! Hehe!
Quite. I too smile until it is time to stop smiling. But I don't have moods. I'm always levelheaded and logical.

Ah, Mr Smooooth!

Eh? You must be confusing the Jutes with johnnycomelatelies who run in popularity contests. My family has survived because they are more violent than their enemies. And smarter, of course. I can walk up the hill before my house and look down on the ruined abbey at the head of the bay, sacked by my ancestors three times in the 9th to the 11th centuries. The casus belli was a fat abbot who didn't get off the road fast enough when the dogs of Erik Bloodsword passed. I still cycle that road...

We tend not to mention colonising, colonial and other similar words. From freezing on some tiny peninsula to being rulers of distant parts and peoples breeds such a superior facility with hypocrisy, don't you know?

It's somebody's rewrite of part of The Mark of the Dragon Queen. I knew people did this for real books, but it feels really strange to find my characters being rewritten. Strange but really lovely!
