The Elite is supposed to be released in 2013. What do you think will happen?

Candice I love this series!
I really hope America ends up with Maxon. He's so cut and really sweet to her. Plus the old boyfriend doesn't deserve her, he broke her heart.
I really think Maxon is gonna catch her with him (sorry I'm spacing on his name). Also Im really interested in the ideas of the Rebels. I can't wait til next year :)

Zoriana Same! Maxon is a sweetheart! (and his name is Aspen)

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm really excited! I have no idea what will happen so I think that's almost good. I hope she ends up with Aspen--I liked Maxon until the end of the book.

Adrianna Heaney-velu (adriheaney) | 1 comments I think she is going to choose the prince and they could change the world forever... or at least I hope so.

Rachel Antzak The Rebels have to play a bigger part in the nxt novel. They have to find out what it is that they want and why they keep attacking. My preference is Maxon over Aspen, but I was thinking that Aspen and Maxon should be on different political sides as well.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

After re-reading this book I hope she chooses Maxon. He's kind of cute... In an awkward way. Does that make any sense??

Mindy (mindy_d) I also prefer Maxon as her ultimate love interest because Aspen seems so lustful. Their relationship consists of them sneaking into her backyard, him eating the food, and then they make out. Yeah, not really a relationship at all.

THIS. ULTIMATELY THIS.

Daria (dariarp) I personally hope she chooses Maxon!!!!
Anyway, I'm EXTREMELY excited for this book!! For some reason I thought it was coming out in, like, July of this year, but I just looked and it comes out on April 23rd!!! ITS EARLIER THAN I THOUGHT, YESSSSSS!!!!!

Ikr?! I hope she chooses Maxon too!! I can't believe we have to wait so long for the Elite!! The suspense is KILLING me!

Daria (dariarp) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH SHE'D BETTER PICK HIM OR ELSE IM SUING!!!!! (idk if thats how you spell it...whatevs :P)

Daria (dariarp) I was thinking the same thing, about Maxon assigning Aspen to guard America's room!! I was like why didn't she tell him who Aspen really was!?!?!? ARGH

Emelie | 13 comments Omygod can't wait!!!!:) SHE BETTER PICK MAXTON!!!!!!!!!!

Daria (dariarp) NEITHER CAN I!!!!!!!
and btw, its Maxon, not Maxton :P

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments Just started reading it, pretty good so far! I'm rooting for Maxon. Aspen just kind of annoys me. While it seems Maxon and America actually have built a good relationship together, all Aspen wants to do is make out with her. It kind of annoyed me how right when Aspen showed up in the selection, America automatically forgot all the pain he put her through and starts making out with him again. I would hate to see Maxons reaction when he finds out about Aspen and America. He's so sweet and adorable, I don't want to see him hurt.

Saida Madu Almendros (s_bookworm) | 7 comments I just finished the Elite. It is amazing! I love this book. However there were so many unexpected things! I don't know how will I patiently wait for the third book, without going crazy.

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments Just finished it. Sigh, I hate that these books are so short! I unused this in like a day! Anyways I have to say by the end of the book I just wanted to strangle America. The way she kept on jumping back and forth between aspen and maxon was beyond irritating and then the crying. Oh my god the crying. It's like every other page she's crying about one thing or another. Anyways, I still enjoyed it and cannot wait for the one!! Can't believe it doesn't come till next year!

Preethi (itsmepreethi) I couldn't stop reading The Elite, though I kind of hated America. She was so selfish and kept going back and forth between Aspen and Maxon. In the end though, I ended up loving America and hating both Maxon and Aspen...I was actually considering swearing off boys lol:)

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments Like I can understand where Maxon is coming from, America really treated him like crap after all he did for her, e.g: saving Marlee and Carter after the caning. And all America said in reply was "thanks". Really? Really America? But that whole thing with Celeste and Maxon was just wrong in every which way and sorts. Maxon must have known America would've found out eventually. Aspens always irritated me so I always what to slap him in the face but have to agree, Maxons behavior was not that great either.

Dalu | 5 comments I know it was a competition but Maxon said from almost the beginning that America was his only choice, so, i really hated him when he appeared with Kriss, and it pissed me off when he was with Celeste.

Maxon can't be expected to be loyal to America when she sure as hel* isn't loyal to him. She's kind of mean...and that's putting it nicely. The scene with Celeste was a bit much though...

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments I agree wholeheartedly. I can see why he would go after Kriss- nice, pretty girl who is head over heels for him and is the perfect image of what a princess should be. But Celeste? Yeah a little too much and his reason for it was kind of whiny and stupid too.

Preethi (itsmepreethi) Stormy wrote: "I agree wholeheartedly. I can see why he would go after Kriss- nice, pretty girl who is head over heels for him and is the perfect image of what a princess should be. But Celeste? Yeah a little too..."

Exactly:)

Emma i agree Stormy, Celeste was really too much!
to my surprise, i actually didn't really like the elite. D:
there was WAY too much talk about the love triangle, and america was being really annoying, and so were maxon and aspen.
maxon gave america this whole speech about how she should trust him, but he keeps fooling around with other girls!

Arpita Pandey | 8 comments I found the dilemma of Ameraica between Aspen and Maxon annoying and very irritating.
Elite was not upto my expectation after Selection.

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments @Emma3501: yeah Maxon was being a jerk as well. If he really wants America he should just stick with her and America should stop being a whiny little girl. She was seriously acting like a child throughout the Elite. All those characters need I get their acts together for The One or that book will be a complete disaster!

message 28: by Emma (new) - rated it 2 stars

Emma I seriously hope they can!

Gergana I read the book a few weeks ago. At first I was team Maxon then Aspen. At the end of the book I just hoped America would leave them both!

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments Team Maxon!!! Hate aspen soooo much. Hate America too. Love hate relationship with Maxon. This has got to be the most annoying love triangle ever!

Rachelle Licon | 11 comments Saida wrote: "I just finished the Elite. It is amazing! I love this book. However there were so many unexpected things! I don't know how will I patiently wait for the third book, without going crazy."

I'm with you. I loved the book...and having to wait a whole year for the next one is quite sad.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished the book and from my perspective it doesn't even feel like a love triangle. I can't picture any circumstances where she would end up with Aspen. Even if she didn't choose Maxon, I can't see her deciding to live her life with Aspen. To me, it felt like she had no feelings for him other than gratitude for his comforting presence. I'm looking forward to book three!

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments I have a big problem with this love triangle. She doesn't seem to really know the definition of love, for to her, America thought she loved aspen just because they spent two years making out in a treehouse. Yeah no, not what love is in my dictionary. She needs to stop being a jerk to both guys and they also nee to improve their behavior towards her as well. I agree as well, even though the book has its flaws, I can't wait till book 3!

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments I just finished half rereading, half skimming this, and it really annoys me how the author tries to create this dystopian world but actually never really describes it that much. Instead she focuses a lot on the romance which gets very dry as the story goes on. Also what the heck is with the rebels? How can the castle security be that weak to let the rebels get in like 500 times (very exaggerated but still). Anyone agree, disagree?

Gergana Totally agree!!

Ariella (ariellah980) | 4 comments I'm waiting for my copy from the library. It's taking so long to get my hands on this book lol.

Cinthia (cinthiah) I was a little disappointed with this one. I really liked The Selection, I couldn't put it down, but The Elite fell short. I hoped she would have explained more about the rebels, not just focus on America changing her mind back and forth. I also agree that Maxon's actions were just awful. The whole Celeste thing seemed a little out of place, considering Maxon has always been the gentleman.

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments Everyone was kinda out of character in the elite. I agree also that it wasn't as fast paced as the selection. Kiera Cass really needs to do something about the whole rebel situation because I'm still really confused about them

Mollie! (martygee) I thought the Selection was better, but maybe that's because the premise made up for the stilted characters. I think Elite is good for younger readers, but as far as all of us YA reviewers, it's not the most well written. I just think the story could have been stronger if less time was spent on the unbalanced love triangle.

message 40: by Olivia (new)

Olivia Gavilan (oliviagavilan) I read this book expecting it to be a sort of guilty pleasure. I don't usually like or read YA dystopian, but the Selection was given to me by a friend and it was actually fun, in a guilty pleasure sort of way. So I read the Elite expecting to dissapear into it and enjoy a nothing much story for a while. Unfortunately the book was really annoying. America was easily influenced and every time she was with one of the boys she was in love with them and thought the other one didn't matter. It was seriously annoying. The entire love triangle was repetitive, too much of the focus of the book, and never stirred any emotions at all. America is a really weak character and the one time I thought she was going to do something big she ended up being as thoughtless and wishy washy as usual. The characters seemed to be the main focus since the plot was basically non existent and the rebels made many appearances but never did anything real, but they came across as flat, uninteresting, contradicting, and boring. I did not enjoy this book.

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments This series IS my guilty pleasure. Not very good writing whatsoever but entertaining

Eveline I really did not like this book. The Selection was still kind of good, but The Elite was only about the love triangle, there was no other story or what so ever.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

I actually had high expectations for this book. And after reading it I was disappointed. The focus of this book became the love triangle and the whole Selection was put into the background. Also, I felt like the rebel attacks were somewhat forced by the author just to add more excitement in the story. I mean, how can rebels break into the palace that easily and that often. And what annoyed me most is America Singer. In the first book I really liked her. She was just true to herself and didn't make the palace life change who is she. But in this book she was just annoying and (sorry to say but still) stupid. She acted and made decisions based on her emotions instead of thinking rationally first. She practically bounced back and forth between Maxon and Aspen. Like one moment she would give her all to Maxon and when he doesn't do the same she would go to Aspen (expecting him to be there for her) and make-out with him. And then when Maxon goes to her she would completely forget about Aspen. And then this would repeat itself again through out the book. With all that said I am still looking forward to read "the One." And since its the last book, I really hope that Kiera Cass would dial down the love triangle, explain the rebel attacks because it just seems pointless and as for the ending... I don't even know what to expect.

I kinda felt the same way!

I completely agree with what you said. I was actually disappointed in this book. The first book, The Selection, was my favorite, but this one kinda let me down. It actullay made me angry as I read it and when I finished it, I didn't give it the best review on Goodreads. I kinda feel bad about that, but I was ticked off. I am looking forward to "The One" and hope it works out all the kinks that "The Elite" presented us with. Thanks for sharing your opinion. It's nice to have someone else thinking the same thoughts.

Rachel Antzak I Z Z Y wrote: "I actually had high expectations for this book. And after reading it I was disappointed. The focus of this book became the love triangle and the whole Selection was put into the background. Also, I..."

I have to agree. I was completely unhappy with America.

Betty Jo Schafer (busylady) | 39 comments I liked this one better than the first book but still wasn't a huge fan. I just keep reading because I want to see who she ends up with. I was disappointed in her rash behavior as well. I like that we learned more about Illea's background but still not enough for my liking. I would have liked to know more about the rebels and why they keep attacking...especially the ones she actually saw. I'm not sure that the author has time in the last book to wrap it all up nicely.

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments The problem with Cass' writing us that she writes relatively short books to begin with, and then she spends 3/4 of the book on romance and then she seems to remember oh yeah need to add this other stuff for some world building. So unless if she makes some drastic changes in book 3, there are going to be a lot of loose ends

message 49: by Emily (new)

Emily | 120 comments The book seemed interesting, but then I picked it up and it was just too much of focusing on the love triangle, and not the plot

message 50: by Julia (new)

Julia | 2 comments I agree, I really enjoyed the first book since it had a bit of everything, but reading the elite was like.......who should I be rooting for? Maxon or Aspen? Her feelings were all over the place and Maxon started to seem like a player, yet he still claimed his love for her. Overall, it was still a good book and I want to read the next one, but I think America needs to have definite feelings like she did for Aspen in the selection, otherwise things are going to be really confusing.
