Hi folks. My very first proper blog post is up and I'm talking about why I write paranormal romance, or paranormal anything. I'd love to know what draws you to the paranormal.

Thanks for posting you blog and I agree. PNR is one of my favorite genre for all the reasons you stated. I am not a very girly girl either and for that reason I have never been a huge romance reader. Although lately I have been reading some historical romance but that is another story. I love a happy ending and the romance of a romance book but some of my favorite parts are the action scenes. I love the danger involved in a PNR and if I were reading a comtempory romance I don't know if it would be as enjoyable for me.

I grew up reading fantasy and science fiction, so PNR was a natural addition to my mountain range of books. I love PNR for the fantastic possibilities that can't exist in other romance genres. Like the intriguing and dangerous men who are totally larger than life and soooo hot. The PNR setting gives heroines a chance to be more than they might be in the real world as well, plus a whole new level of action and danger beyond serial killers/terrorists/crime syndicates.

@Jessica @Lucy thanks for commenting guys. I do read historical fiction as well but its the paranormal that keeps me coming back for more. I'm on the second Fifty Shades at the moment and the connection and non-stop sex is a tad hard to accept when its a normal man, give me a sexy vamp or were any day. :) I definitely agree on the heroines - especially if they are paranormal as well then they can really kick the alpha heroes into shape!!
