Angels stop and stare,

The night I saw you.
How beautiful you were then.
With eyes like pale stars.

#2
Falling
Have you ever experienced falling
Known the feel of the wind on your skin,
The rush of life as it fades away into memories dark and lonsome?
That falling is far less painless and nerve racking,
More treacherpus and fatal.
Then the one I felt today.
One look over the shoulder,
One dismissive glance and I was gone.
I was falling again.

A beacon

I caught sight of you,
A beacon in the darkness.
A smile like the sun.

Elevetha | 384 comments Option 2.

Spinning and falling into the dark,
I bleed out, fade away, fall apart,
But I finally feel free,
A sense of peace washes over me,
All this falling and fading,
Made my wishing and waiting,
Seem so trivial,
And now I finally feel real.

I want you to love me
No matter what
No matter what
I want you to tell me that I'm not too far from you
No matter what
No matter what
I want you to forgive me
No matter what

I want to hear you say that you will always be there
No matter what
No matter what

You hold my hand and smile
And then you say yes.

Down, down
Into a baseless hole
Scrabbling to find something to hold onto
Everything around me in shades of grey
No colour, no life, no place that feels safe
Until a hand comes from above…
Reaches in
Saves my fragile self
And I am going up, up
Bursting into an oasis of light
As I fall gracefully into their arms

Eugenia (Genie In A Book) (genie-inabook) | 88 comments Since we're having a poll for the swap and share challenge, is there going to be one up for this too?

A poll is up for the swap and share challenge here: http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/77...

I can always add a last minute entry, if needed, though. But the swap and share challenge will be up again for February anyway.

message 137: by Booknut, Head Moderator (new)

Booknut 101 (booknut101) | 4592 comments Mod
The task is as follows:
- You create a character.
- Swap your character with another person
- Write a short piece using that person's character (vice versa)

The info is here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

I almost forgot as well! (What with all our other lovely events going on :))

The winners for Februrary are...(I couldn't choose between the two!!)
- Feven's '#1':
Falling,
willingly,
without you I am nothing.
Their is a part of my heart that aches with hope
Hope that you will catch me.
But when I fall I'm invisible to you.
I love you,
I love you.
But tonight I will fall without you.

and
- Elevetha's 'Spark':
A spark of something,
Unknown to the likes of me,
Flashes in your eyes.

@Feven: if you would like a copy of Tennyson's Early Poems, please message me your e-mail via Goodreads messaging :)
@Elevetha: For you I have 'Selected Poem' by John Keats, another fabulous poet :D I'll e-mail it to you ASAP.

Both of you can choose ONE THEME EACH to give to everyone for Februrary - post it up when you can.
