Joey Pinkney (joeypinkney) | 57 comments I had the pleasure of interviewing Janet Throneberry for her novel Waiting on Monday.

It was very enjoyable for a bunch of different reasons. One, we're both from Memphis. Two, we've looked at racial issues with a discerning eye. Three, she really opened up and let us know what's on her mind and in her book.

Here is a quote from the interview: "Keeping in mind Waiting for Monday is fictional, I was blessed or cursed, depending on how you look at it, with a keen memory of most childhood events. My closest friends can attest to that! Watching adults say one thing and do another caused my child-mind to stay on high-alert for tricks that grown ups played. For example, acting differently around different people, and talking behind someone’s back."
