I had the honor of interviewing the niece of Carol Fenner for Fenner's book "Running and Dancing".

Carol Fenner won the Christopher Award for "Gorilla-Gorilla", the Coretta Scott King Award for "The Skates of Little Richard" and was the runner-up for the Newberry Award twice for "Gorilla-Gorilla" and "Yolanda's Genius". Before her death she handed the manuscript for Running and Dancing to her niece Claudia Alexander, who published it through her own Red Phoenix Books.
