Jim | 6484 comments My problem is that when I get inebriated I'm usually not near a computer.

Lobstergirl | 24781 comments Mod
That doesn't sound like the worst problem ever.

message 53: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments In reality it isn't a problem at all.

Maybe it is a solution. To PUI, or PWI.

message 55: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments Whenever I see a book that looks interesting on other websites or in bookstores I add it into my to-read shelf. I'm always very diligent about updating my currently-reading shelf and adding new books I get into my bookshelves. TC is the group I post the most at but I'm hardly here anymore. When I come on and find a thread here that I'm interested in I feel like it's too late for me to get into the discussion. There is one other group that I post on a wee bit and a few others I just lurk at for book recommendations. I used to lurk/post on the GR Librarians and Feedback groups but they started to piss me off so I took myself out of those groups.

Carol | 1678 comments Jaimie, feel free to bring us back around to what YOU want to talk about!

message 57: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments What Carol said, we've hashed and rehashed many a topic.

message 58: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Yes. We're pretty willing to drop whatever poop/cheese/ficus talk we're currently (re)hashing and return to the topic at hand. If you need help Lg can be quite scary fanatical strict about maintaining thread purity.

It can get ugly.

message 60: by Cheri (new)

Cheri | 795 comments I'd love some hash or even some rehash. Not since collage.

Félix (habitseven) Electoral Collage.

message 66: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments I had a note that was taped to a box of donated books - Collage Books. They were not books about collage and now the note is missing! egads

Décolletage.

message 69: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24781 comments Mod
Are we rehashing décolletage? I once did decoupage.

message 70: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments You did decoupage on your décolletage?

message 71: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I spent years of my life doing decoupage. I even did a big project for the Story County 4-H Fair. Brag, brag, brag. Shut up, Cynthia.

message 72: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) You crack me up.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Jim wrote: "My problem is that when I get inebriated I'm usually not near a computer."

My problem is that sometimes I get near the computer when I've gotten into my cups. THEN I start to piss people off, even myself.

message 76: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I can always tell.

message 77: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments It's surprisingly obvious. I get kind of snarky.

message 78: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) With a capital S. :)

Félix (habitseven) Yes, please don't.

I just joined the "Perks of Being a Bookworm" group. But I'm alarmed at the number of exclamation points in the first thread I'm reading. Lawdsamercy.

We'll see how long this lasts.

People who excessively vomit exclamation points tend to be of questionable character, IMHO.

message 89: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24781 comments Mod
Indeed that is an HO.

message 90: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) We look down on such people.

Perhaps that is a tiny bit cult-like. Snotty, too.

What are you saying?!?!?!!!

message 95: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I thought the posts to Clackamas regarding scouting were a bit cult-like. They demonstrated an attitude of "think like us or else you're wrong."

message 96: by Sally, la reina (new)

Yeah I'll agree - although cult-like wouldn't have been the first word I would use. Rude, I probably would say.

Sally wrote: "Well, that's because she was wrong."

No, she had a different experience with the Scouts. That doesn't make her wrong.

message 99: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Sally wrote: "Well, that's because she was wrong."

As I recall, the issue was a matter of opinion. Yes, hers was what most of us would consider outdated and exclusionary, but that doesn't make ours "correct."

Oh crap, does that mean I think like an American?
