A true American wears his or her gun in a holster, or tucked into the back of the pants.

Gail, you are not fat enough to be American.

message 103: by [deleted user] (new)

That is something I can work on Sally.

I was somewhere recently, looking at the people nearby and thinking of the people in the movie Wall-E. I think these were the original cast!

No, she had a different experience with the Scouts. That doesn't make her wrong."

I had a horrible 2 year experience with Girl Scouts. Those girls were expert super bitches!

There are a lot of bitchy girls out there. Not just in the scouts. Try cheerleading!

Jammies *happens to like excessive exclamation points*

I'd expect bitchiness in cheerleading, which I think as a competitive sport. But scouting is supposed to teach cooperation and leadership not how to be a nasty, bitchy bully.

My high school was mostly white, but the cheerleading squad was all black. It was kind of odd!

I don't really think Cheerleading is supposed to teach how to be a nasty, bitchy bully either.

Maybe it isn't taught but them bitches sure learn it. Sorry, I might have a little too much attitude about this.

I shouldn't be reading this. One of the twins is a cheerleader.

Back in 1978, our high school cheersquad and our high school gymnastics team (all female) had weekly weigh-ins. They were scolded and publicly humiliated if they gained a few pounds. No wonder they were crabby.

OOOPS! That was in the 'olden' days. I'm sure your girl is a sweetheart. My attitude comes from the 1970s in Illinois and does not reflect the opinions of today.

She's OK so far but like you (I think), my wife and I have zero use for catty, petty, snotty, elitist attitudes. Here's hoping she keeps her head on straight.

Jim did...didn't he? Why are you writhing? Should I be writhing?

I like that word. Writhe.

Mostly I review books on GR, books I read, add books I buy and sift through your reviews to write down more books I want.

Sometimes when things are slow at work I troll around and post too much, give too much information, start "discussions" I don't really even want to have. What am I thinking? I have no idea. I've been on here for 5 years next month, I know how it's going to end.

LOTS of the time I laugh. Y'all are great, some more than others and some of my favorites took a while to grow on me, but it's funny how several of you have touched my actual life in a way that I talk about you in every day conversation. I remember once my sister saying, "You're so weird! You talk about them like they're real people." That made me laugh, like you're all some kind of computer generated book nerds or something!

You're so sweet, Cynthia! Y'all are referred to as "The Book Nerds" in my world. But, I'm one too...I don't know if that's better or worse.
