diane (dianedaayan) hey everyone, I was wondering if we could initiate a monthly group reading exercise exclusively for books in the public domain? There are lots of very interesting old books which go unread even though initiatives like Project Gutenberg, archive.org and Librivox now provide easy access to them. We could take this opportunity to munch as many of these writings as possible.

What do you all think?

I think this is a really good idea. Often I pass over these books for newer ones but would like to make my way through more.

Tori Bryan | 13 comments I would definitely be up for this. Apple's iBookstore also has a ton of public domain books available and it's been a lingering goal of mine to start making my way through a lot of them.

you can nominate any of these for either category for September. Most public domain books are considered classics and category 1 is always anything goes. We could probably start a nomination for only these books, if we get enough interest. What does everyone think?
