Aussie Lovers of Crime/Mystery/Thriller/Suspense discussion

I have read Devil's Corner and here's my review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and Lady Killer with my review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... Mish. I gave them both 4 stars, with Lady Killer being my first Scottoline. I enjoyed them both:)

I've got a few on the go ... But today I've been reading Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution which I'm enjoying so far. It will probably be my last book for the month.

I'm reading that too Michael but have only managed about 200 so pages. I agree it's massive but I noticed you're doing really well with it. I keep leaving mine to read other books in between!! But I have to return it to the library soon so really need to get a move on. I am enjoying it.It's so well written. May have to buy it.

Yes just saw it. Great review and I think you and my friend agree on perhaps why it wasn't a great read. I still want to read it. I'm a sucker for true crime,all the facts and detail. As long as it's not too graphic or violent.

I did enjoy it Elaine, it was just difficult to read. I finished it, so it was good...I wouldn't have if I hadn't been enjoying it:) Not graphic or violent:)

Yes I think I need to own it Michael. There's a damaged copy at work that I'm hoping to get my hands on but I'm not liking my chances!!! We'll see. But I agree you definitely want to keep reading it.

I read and reviewed The Last Winter of Dani Lancing - great psychological thriller. The ending, in some parts were a bit unrealistic, but it was an absorbing and thrilling read

I finished reading 'Dead Tomorrow' by Peter James which I enjoyed. Started 'The Camel Club' by David Baldacci.

I had my own novel 'Lack of Ambition' reviewed by Kirkus and it was surprisingly positive.

I've got a couple of his books here, but as yet haven't read any of them. Would Dead Tomorrow be a good one to start with Peter? I quite enjoyed The Camel Club when I read it:)

Brenda, I'd start with Dead Simple -- it's when we meet Detective Superintendent Roy Grace.

Brenda, Dead Simple is the beginning of the series and sets up the character. However one could read others in the series and you'd get some idea of the past. But I agree that the best start is 'Dead Simple'.
