David Kilner (boris1947) No doubt you've used this situation as a ploy point somewhere?

Elaine | 52 comments I'm reading Gone Gone (Quincy & Rainie, #5) by Lisa Gardner and absolutely loving it. This is my first Lisa Gardner book, I think, which is hard to believe. Possibly not my last.

Thanks Brenda. Yes I'm discovering just how good she is. I found this on my bookshelf. I can't even remember buying it and I can't believe I've not read any of hers before as she's the kind of crime writer I like.

Funny you should say that Brenda cause looking at my bookshelf( well the books on the floor now!!!) I have one of Tess Gerritsen's there too. The Apprentice. I noticed you gave it 5 stars so I'm guessing that's a good one too.

Oooh I read that one ages ago (pre reviews!) but I remember I loved it!

And I just realized what I said before was bad English! It should have been "she and Tess...." I think;)

David Kilner (boris1947) I went away for a few days and took Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ with me. This is a complex novel which works well on many levels and is a significant study of race and social relations in 1930s Alabama. It’s also a mystery story involving a capital crime with an exciting courtroom scene and a denouement that satisfactorily brought together various strands of the plot. Still very readable after 50 years. And so much to teach us about race, courage, class and childhood.

Thanks Vicki! I wanted to put that in - there was so much more in the first few pages relating to Bruno and his love of his lifestyle - I could only cover a little bit! He had more named feathered friends;)

Mike (dantzr) | 10 comments Cloaked in Blood (Ericksson, #7) by L.S. Sygnet Currently entrenched in the outstanding novel, Cloaked in Blood, by LS Sygnet. Not an Australian author but her writing is as intense of any Aussie authors I read. This is one of a series that grabs, holds and is enjoyed
