All My Enemies by Barry Maitland, I am quite enjoying this series

I'm reading Stanley Ellin's short stories. Alfred Hitchcock loved them and I can see why.

I read it because he's Aussie and the book is set in Australia, where I think his others are set in London or there abouts... and when I enjoyed it so much, I decided to read more. But haven't yet! I listened to him speak at the Newcastle Writers Festival earlier in the year:)

I've read more books (19) in the past month than I’ve read all year. It does help that I had no phone, no internet and a wood fire to curl up in front of. I won't bore you with them all, but here's some of my favs:

Dark Horse by Honey Brown Brilliant Australian suspense -- my favourite read of the year so far.

The Kult by Shaun Jeffrey
This one had been on my to-read list since 2011. I think the title and the horror label put me off, but it's more dark thriller than horror and a great story.
