Go to the group home page and look for "You are a member. Edit | Group info" in the description info. Click "Edit" and then at the top there will be a "Leave this group" link. That will remove you from the group. (This is the same for any group you want to leave on Goodreads as well.)

As to stopping notifications, you can edit how you get notifications on your profile page. That will stop you from getting notifications on *new* threads. For existing threads for which you get notifications, you will have to edit each thread. You can do this by clicking on the link above the comment box "Email me when people ocmment" and selecting the option you wish.

To leave a group you need to go to the Group Home page. Just below the information box is the notice "You are a member" (or some such wording) and next to that is an "Edit" link. Leaving the group is pretty self-explanatory on that screen.
