Avani (Sorry, I changed the title, to use the pun in another discussion title--the original title was "This is totally riddikulus.")

Did you like my play on words there? ;)

Anyway, since riddikulus! was one of many favored spells of the students at Hogwarts (remember Snape in the vulture hat?), I thought, which spells do we Muggles like the most?

I think one of my favorites is (I know, I know, cliché) expecto patronum, because it represents happiness and an end to dark times. And Patronuses are just so pretty!

I also really like aguamenti.

What do you guys think? What are some of your favorite spells?

:) That's how I spell it! I don't spell it the correct way, in fact RIDICULOUS looks strange to me now. :)

I love riddikulus! Expecto Patronum may just be my favorite. :)

I also love:
Expelliarmus
Aguamenti
Engorgio (I think that's how you spell it!)

I do love all of them, though. :) Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to use any of the spells, though? Except for the bad ones.

Yes!
Expecto Patronum and Levicorpus are my favorites, always will be.

Becky Levicorpus and Wingardium Leviosa (is that how you spell it?) are my two personal favorites.

Curtiss Bombarda!! - really goes with two exclamation points don't you think?

Interesting, I haven't heard of that spell before. What does it do?

Curtiss Hermione Granger used it to blast open the cell door at the top of the Astronomy Tower, and free Sirius Black at the end of "Prisoner of Azkaban".

Curtiss Although possibly that was a spell only used in the movie and not in the book. If so, would that invalidate it as an 'authentic' J.K. Rowling spell?

Ciara I have quite a few!
But yeah, the Patronus Charm (Expecto Patronum) is great!
According to quizzes, my Patronus and/or Animagus would be an owl :)

Hmmm... I'm not really sure, because in the book, she uses alohomora to unlock the door. It was in the movies, so you say, so I guess it should still be classified as an HP spell, just not one that JK came up with.

Jeni I always loved Episky, Occulus Reparo, and Reducto.

Curtiss Hermione used "Alohomora" to unlock the door to the room where Fluffy the giant, 3-headed dog was guarding the trap door which led to the series of challenges protecting the Philospher's/Sorceror's Stone.

"Bombarda" was the spell she used to blast open Sirius Black's cell door on top of the Astronomy Tower two movies/books later, in the "Prisoner of Azkaban".

Page 414 of Prisoner of Azkaban - "Black looked up. Harry saw his jaw drop. He leapt from his chair, hurried to the window and tried to open it, but it was locked.
'Stand back!' Hermione called to him, and she took out her wand, still gripping the back of Harry's robes with her left hand.
'Alohomora!'
The window sprang open."

Curtiss So - Hermione only used "Bombarda" in the movie, not the book.

I don't really remember the movie, so you're probably right.
