I almost gave up on Lost, was it S2 where the first half that fell apart? How incredible that they turned it around completely the 2nd half!
I'm still hoping that somehow Jin is alive. Yes, I can be a bit of a romantic, heh.
Now how is Ben going to break Hurley out of jail? And did it cross anyone's mind that Mrs. Hawking is Daniel's Mom?
Re: the compass that Richard gave Locke, now that was interesting since it brought back the episode when he tested John, and hightailed it out of there when John chose the knife. But as I said, when I start thinking about the time travel logistics of Richard hoping young John would choose the compass, my mind explodes!
I have officially given up on Heroes.

Definitely interesting about the compass...maybe Richard is, like Desmond, someone that lives outside the rules. I love that they trust their audience to follow the twists, rather than dumbing everything down.
I've also given up on Heroes. Heroes is sci-fi by people who scorn sci-fi.

I love that the show spends so much time on characters that would in other series be considered merely peripheral, and I'm looking forward to more background on Hawking, Daniel, Miles, Charlotte, Rousseau, etc. this year.

Jin is definitely alive. In the episode when sun had her baby in Korea, we see Jin running around looking for a stuffed giant panda bear. I assumed it was for Sun, then at the end, Jin was bringing the bear to a business associates daughter who was giving birth. When he left the hospital, a nurse said something to him about being a father and he said I'm not married!
When we'll see Jin again I have no idea but I'm sure we will.
I think it's a stretch for Richard to think Locke would choose the compass as a child, he hasn't been to the island yet, how would he know about the compass? But it does explain why Richard thinks Locke is special and important to the island in the present.
The twists never end on this show, I love it. I know many people got frustrated early on, but it's been paying off. I never know what to expect...

PS. I haven't given up on Heroes yet (parts of season 1 were great), but I'm close to that point. I hope it gets out of its slump and just pretends time travel doesn't exist anymore.

New theory:
I already think that Mrs. Hawking is Daniel's mother.
Any chance that Ellie girl with the gun grows up to be Daniel's mother? That would explain how she and Widmore know each other.
Why are the Desmond episodes always the best ones?

You know, alot of people are speculating that Ellie is Daniel's Mom, of course never even thought of it until I read it elsewhere. What has happened to my brain? heh
Desmond episodes ARE always the best. Did you know he's an RSC trained classical actor. And there's something about him that makes him my favorite guy on the show, hubba hubba.
So Charlotte is going thru the time aneuryism stuff. I supposed this is because she was born on the island? Yet that other guy on the freighter who died wasn't, I don't think. And Desmond of course wasn't, yet without his constant, he would have died as well. No clue from me as to why, just an observation.

I think I read somewhere that Charlotte has a connection to the island so that makes sense if she was born there. When Julia arrives it's because the pregnant women are dying, but I think that babies had to have been born there in the past because it appears as if the Others have been there for generations.

You know you love you some LOST. :3 So how awesome is this last season? Flash-sideways? Yay or nay? Enlightened Desmond? I think there's only one answer for this question: it's about time. ;D

The last two (with the exception of Desmond running Locke over) have been just sitting up the final showdown.
The ease at which the writers work religion and Star Wars into almost every episode is impressive. (Jacob/Esau, Joseph in the Well, the idea of a sacrifice needed to save everyone, Hurley rewriting Empire Strikes back, the cave on Hoth. Just an enjoyable show.
ASSUME SPOILERS WILL TURN UP BELOW
I really appreciate their use of a thoughtful, hard sci-fi interpretation of time travel. Time is a river, reminiscent of The Anubis Gates.
I interpreted it as a promise that they would do their best not to contradict their own rules (see the disappointing "Heroes" for the opposite).
