If I take IB, i get to take art as well.

message 102: by Frances (new)

Frances (parentheticalnote) What's the logic behind that though? O.o Art = a whole lot more work if you don't manage your time correctly, that plus IB...

IB means that we'll have no life. For me, it means that same thing I've been doing up till now so I won't notice much of a difference.

Ooch. That's not true, Victor ^-^;;
I actually heard IB wasn't as bad as it seems as long as you don't mind working hard consistently.

Does Art take out home time? I really want to do it, but...

message 109: by Joon (new)

Joon (JoonChang) | 409 comments Mod
I don't think so. Art is a good subject to take in high school, especially if you are going to do it every year in high school.

Victor wrote: "Wait, Joon, you said art is a good subject, but develop on that a little more...like how is it good...then people might understand your viewpoints"

Well, art do gives you credit for high school, however I forgot which subject. I think it is Fine Arts. You could also get accepted into a very good art school, especially if you do it for four years and do good in it.

Thats what they all say"

Well, they only say it because it's true.

But if you really want to see randomness talk to some of my friends. Sometimes it's actually scary.

Here's one particularly random train of thought a friend of mine had:

Letter. I'm writing a letter. I can't write a letter. I'm wearing a purple dress. I don't like it. My red dress is at the cleaners. You wore blue. The Germans wore grey. Casablanca. That's a good movie. The white house. George Bush. Obama. Clinton. Global warming. Hybrid cars. I should get a hybrid car. I should ride my bicyle more often. Bicycle. Unicycle. Unitard. Leotard. Monkey. Monkey. Underpants.

Yeah... don't comment. But you people haven't seen randomness until you've met my friends.

Well good luck. I am just going to take AP, maybe full. I know I am going to do newspaper, spanish, and orchestra.

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

Crystal's taking debate. Orcestra for me, duh. and Spanish and Team Sports. so yeah.

message 118: by Joon (new)

Joon (JoonChang) | 409 comments Mod
Crystal Lee? Oh no. I was planning to take debate also, but I don't know. Having Crystal in another class seems like a nightmare. Still, it won't be too bad. I know that I'm going to have to take P.E.

message 119: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments I don't have to take P.E. Yay me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aneesha (saianeesha) | 30 comments i think i am going to take IB, not sure, but my electives: Team Sports,Debate,Spanish,Piano 1/Dance 1 havenot decided yet.... i am taking classes in piano starting in MAY and since i am just starting, i am going to take Piano 1.

message 125: by Aneesha (new)

Aneesha (saianeesha) | 30 comments Jin, you just have to do Music Theory, you have so much experience.

message 126: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucky you, Jin. You should take Journalism. You can touch up your excellent skills in English. Maybe Newspaper. Do it with Esha. But if you interview me I'm going to steal your clarinet and shove it down Rohan's gullet.

message 127: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments What???!!!!!
I am not good at elglish. English is my second language, there is no way that i can keep my grades up in Journalism. I don't want to do music theory. My mom want me to be musician and everybody expects me to be a musician since it's first time in our whole family who is musician but I spent like my whole life on music ad i didn't have chance to do other things like writing or etc. I want to do it in high school. And even though I have so much experience, I suck at theory. I always make stupid mistakes on theory tests that I have to take every single year.

IB is International Baccalaureate. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum. But then there is Pre-Ib to fill up 9th and 10th grade. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities. Students learn more than a collection of facts. The Diploma Programme prepares students for university ALOT. It has many specific requirements like you have to do a minimum of 150 hours of service, action and creativity.

Your home high school might have it. If it does, it probably has an IB night for incoming freshman.

IB ..."

Woah! high school is really different there. We start high school when either 11-12yrs old in and then when your in year 10 (4th year of high school)you get to pick 3 subjects. So i am taking Maths, english, english lit, r.e, science (all 3), citizenship, and the ones i got to pick which are double art(counts for 2 gcses) and media studies. Theres no IB and all that stuff. There's only about 11 things to choose from.

message 133: by [deleted user] (new)

wow. it is different. ib is international baccleureate, which is an advanced class that allows you to attend international colleges. :O

message 134: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments wow.........start high school at 10 or 11 years old????That's reallyreally different.

message 135: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle | 82 comments yes, first you go primary school when ur either 4 or 5, and your in reception. then year 1, year 2 which are all ks1 (key stage) or infants. Then you go to ks2 or juniors, for years 3-6. then you start high school. and finish in year 11, but the year 7s now have to stay on till year 12. after that you can basically do what you want. sixth form, college, university or go to work.

what do you call the exams you take??? we call them gcses. then in sixth form and college its A levels and uni you get degrees ect.

Our schools suck compared to other countries.

message 136: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments It sounds pertty interesting..........
What kinds of exams???

message 137: by Joon (new)

Joon (JoonChang) | 409 comments Mod
That place sounds really interesting. So different from our schools.

message 138: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments It does sound different.
I wonder what it feels like to go to high school at age of 11 or 12?..........

message 139: by Joon (new)

Joon (JoonChang) | 409 comments Mod
I would feel pretty worried, going to high school at such a young age. Wouldn't you be scared?

message 140: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments I would be scared. I am scared about next year and I would be 14. It's a lot different from Korean schools too

message 141: by Joon (new)

Joon (JoonChang) | 409 comments Mod
How is it different than American schools?

message 142: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments Um. Let's see.
Our age is different from the beggining. You are one year old when you are born and you get older on New Years Day, no matter when your birthday is.
Elementary school is 6 years, middle school is 3 and high school is three years.
And our new school starts every spring not in the fall. Our first day of school is always March 2nd. We have winter break, four days of school, spring break until March 2nd. New grade, school, summer break, school and winter break and rotates. We never have ealry release days or bad weather days. We go to school on Saturadays too so we only have one day weekend.

message 143: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments I am suppose to start 8th grade now in Korea but since I am in America, I am at almost end of 8th grade...

message 144: by Joon (new)

Joon (JoonChang) | 409 comments Mod
That's cool. It's not that different.

message 145: by [deleted user] (new)

Whoa. That means....we're older here, but since you are actually a year old when you're born, you'd be a year older....whoa! Too much thinking.

message 146: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle | 82 comments Thats way complicated!

I go to college aswell for extra courses.
I go for art, some people go for Hair and Beauty, Engineering, Catering (different from food tech).
I went today :)

So...do you have different Sets and Forms??

message 147: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments uhhhhhhhhhhh...........i am sorry..i am getting confusions........

message 148: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle | 82 comments lol.
Sets are like the people that are best at that subject are in the top set (set 1) all the way down to set 6.

Form is the group of people you have regestration with.

message 149: by Jin (new)

Jin | 281 comments I think we call it IB, AP, TAG, Pre-AP, Regular here........I have no idea what they call in Korea......I know it in Korean....but in english.....it sounds weird....

message 150: by Nicolle (new)
