3. The very first comic strip was printed in an American newspaper on September 11th, 1875. Read a comic book, graphic novel, or manga OR tell us about your favorite comic and why it's your favorite.
Well I have zero interest in reading a manga or graphic novel so I guess I will talk about comics. To be honest, I haven't read a comic strip since I was a kid. I liked the old ones...Peanuts, Marmaduke, and Cathy. I can't say why specifically I like the cartoons I listed other than they are just a few of the classics that I grew up on. I don't even know if the Cincinnati Enquirer runs comics anymore. I don't read comic books either.
4. The 4th week of September is National Dog Week. Read a book where a central character is an animal or the book is about animals OR tell us what your favorite animal is and why it's your favorite. (For bonus points, post your favorite youtube video of it.)
Turtle Moon by Alice Hoffman Police Dogs used by the MC are central to the plot- FINISHED 9/8/12

3. The very first comic strip was printed in an American newspaper on September 11th, 1875. Read a comic book, graphic novel, or manga OR tell us about your favorite comic and why it's your favorite.
**My favorite comic strip is Cathy - Why I like this one is summed up in the Intro on GoComics: Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

My favorite comic strip is Garfield. He is the funniest cat ever. I've only read one comic book in my life and it was a Batman comic book. My Dad loves Batman, so I guess he is my favorite, too.

A pet pig would be cute, too. Little cows (calfs) are the best. My Aunt had one. I named her Daisy. Too bad they get big, but they are still funny even then. They just stare and chew, hahaha.

Same with me, Ashley. I really loved the book, it made me laugh and cry a lot. I could relate to it really easily, having a dog myself. I can tell from my own experience, that it's not always easy to have a little child and a puppy with a lot of energy, but I can't imagine our family without a dog.

DONE i read buffy the vampire slayer origins, it was good a lot like the film, missed some of my favorite bits though, so yeay read a comic but not sure i'll bother again.
