For me, it has enabled me to become much more calm, still and in control of my state and emotions. I feel more inner peace, joy and love from exercising the teachings contained in the book. It hasn't been easy, but the differences to how I perceive and appreciate life itself has been profound. More than anything it has helped me to get in touch with who I really am, to feel a connection with other people, the world and ultimately the universe. I feel more spacious and empowered and many things that I used to think were important in life such as material gain and financial success have taken a back seat to personal peace and happiness and people and relationships. I feel it has opened my eyes and my heart to the second by second beauty and amazing wonder that life is.

I don't think it's possible to use too much hyperbole when discussing what Tolle has done. He's distilled the essence of every spiritual tradition the world over into one, amazingly simple truth. The Now is all you ever have; open yourself to it fully, let go of all the parts of "you" that are born or dwell in past and future, and find out what arises.

The book has changed me. At times I consider reading or delving more deeply into other spiritual works, but I rarely get beyond this superficial thought. Other books aren't needed. Everything a seeker could possibly need on that spiritual journey is contained within Tolle's—and really, moving one step further—everything anyone could possibly need is contained within that single, shining moment. This one.
