Ok, so I know a lot of people get really annoyed when they are asked to compare these books. I am hoping you are not these people, but oh well. anyway, I don't really know which one I like the best. I mean I lobed them all! I think I like Twilight better and then the hunger games then Harry Potter, but I cant be 100% sure

Cassondra (bookworm1516) | 66 comments i think that i'd have to say i liked harry potter the best then the hunger games and then the twilight series. i wasn't really fond of the twilight series (because of the whole love triangle and that one scene in the 3rd.) and while i loved the first hunger games the second was not good at all (worst one in thee whole series in my opinion) so that leaves harry potter witch i have reread 7 times

There are a lot more harry potter books too, so you get to enjoy it for longer. J.K. Rowling is such a great author!

Claire | 5 comments Hunger Games. I read all the Harry Potters and the Hunger Games trilogy and Twilight (the first one, not the rest), and I have only ever had an urge to go back and reread the Hunger Games. Now of course I didn't full on reread but I did skim. I have to say though, the Harry Potter movies are some of my favorites whereas I hated the HG movie.

Ya, I like the Harry potter movies better than the Hunger Games movie too. Have you seen all of the Harry Potter movies?

message 20: by Cassondra (new)

Cassondra (bookworm1516) | 66 comments i have seen all of the harry potter movies as well. i also believe the makers of the harry potter movies did a better job recreating the fantasy world then the makers of the hunger games. although i do have to say the people who made the Half-blood prince did horrendous! by the way sorry i haven't been in for so long; it's been really busy with science olympiad, swimming, and now lacrosse. by the way now that i've re-read the twilight series i still have the same opinion. i feel there was a bit to much romance in the twilight saga and that if it was judged solely off of it's plot it would not be nearly as popular as it is. the only reason i read the whole series is because i had to find out what happened to Jake. i got really attached to his character.

message 21: by Annie (new)

Annie | 891 comments Mod
Ya, I agree about the Harry Potter movies. I thought they really did a good job making it seem like it could be real. I loved the sets. I also agree that the half blood prince was not very well done. I think it is my least favorite.

Alex (alexalvarez13) Uh, HP. I don't read Twilight cuz I don't like undead stuff. Same reason I don't like The Walking Dead series. And HP doesn't really fall into the category. It's like, E-rated.

that is a good point, but it is popular with all ages, so I just thought maybe I could include it. Besides, it is really good!!!!!

Annika Harry Potter are the book of my childhood, adolescence, and will probably be the books of my adulthood. I really enjoyed The Hunger Games, and I liked Twilight, but Harry Potter is really on a whole different level for me. It is like a portal to another world. And not necessarily a world where you fall in love with vampires and werewolves, or a world where kids fight to the death in an arena.

good point. It seems more mature than the other stories and also more developed.

Mine's Harry Potter! I just watched all the movie's! They were AWESOME!!! Witch Harry potter movie or book was your favorite? Check this quiz to see witch Harry Potter character you are!

message 30: by Jace (new)

Jace Bullough (jaceb247) | 23 comments I'd have to say that for the story line I LOVE Harry Potter, I also have to give it extra pit because they basically raised me. Especially how the books matured with me and the rest of the audience.
But then I am in love with the writing in the Hunger Game, though I don't particularly like the theme in the story line, Collins writing and her first series the Underland Chronicles will probably always be a favorite of mine.
Then comes Twilight, and while I can understand why it captures so many people, I've never been able to read through them with enjoyment.

message 37: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Ramirez (melissaramirez) | 281 comments I'm gonna have to go with Harry Potter, on this one. But Hunger Games comes in second.

I've read the HP series through completely, three times, (finished it the first time at age 14) and I've seen each of the eight movies at least twice. (I went to the midnight premiere of the last three movies.)I'm just blown away by the world-building in the HP films...every time I re-watch I usually pick up on something I never did before. Sure, it's a mainstream film franchise, and there's no way you can fit 500+ pages into a 2.5 hour movie; but all things considered, I think the movies worked out well.

I think the strongest book of the Hunger Games trilogy is actually the first one, personally. The second book was a bit of a letdown for me, and the conclusion to Mockingjay just left me confused, and upset. But I'll have to wait till the rest of the film franchise comes to theaters...the world's gone crazy for the Hunger Games movies, and it certainly shows! Really though, I thoroughly enjoyed the first two movies in the HG series...they're both action-packed, and entertaining. I can't wait to see how "Mockingjay Part 1" turns out!

Twilight has had its 15 minutes of fame. I feel like the books are really only "the best books EVER!" if you're in middle school... (and I mean no offense at all to those who enjoy the series) they're okay, but they're nothing special. Not comparable to the Hunger Games, or to HP; and I really hate it when people just lump them all together 'cause they're all YA series.

Just because they're all written with children/young adults in mind doesn't mean they deserve to be thrown in with each other.

I love the Harry Potter movies. Even though I feel like books are better than their movie adaptions most of the time, HP was one of the franchises where they really got it right. :)

My favorite HP book is the first one...I just love how suprised Harry is at things in the wizard world: Quidditch and broom-riding, the paintings that move, the staircases that like to change, etc. Around the 5th book is when it really starts to get darker - not that I don't like the later books, but I appreciate the lighter themes of the first three books more, when they're contrasted with the darkness of the last few. My second favorite HP book is the fourth one. I love the wizard games, the Yule Ball, Hermione's dress and Ron's inability to cope with his budding feelings for her... :)

My favorite movies: Prisoner of Azkaban
Deathly Hallows Part 1
Goblet of Fire

Sorry to turn this response into a mini-novel!

Ya, I think your right that the fist hunger games was the strongest. I liked the third one a lot too, but the 2nd has always been my least favorite. They have been doing a great job on the movies though, I hope they keep it up!!
