Gabriel Kent (graphnical) | 3 comments OK, I know this is probably a rather messed up post but this is driving me a bit crazy.

I read this book a few year ago and desperately want to remember the title so that I can read it again.

I can offer very little to go on but perhaps the group mind here can help me ferret it out and should we be successful, I would highly recommend the read.

Here goes (from what I can remember):

- It was about two inventors (known throughout the Universe) who created fantastic machines/inventions

- These machines were commissioned by rich lords/kings (from different planets) and while built to specification usually wreaked some type of havoc and caused the inventors to have to flee for their lives

- It is one book but each chapter seems to be a short story

- I remember the title of the book was rather odd

I am sitting here, wracking my brain for more to go on but I only draw a blank.

Dear friends, thank you in advance, please help.

Thank you good sir.

Dylan (dyarch) No problem. I've been meaning to read that one for a long time - Lem's one of those authors where every single book has an amazing premise, so I can never quite decide where to start with him.

Riona (rionafaith) | 14 comments I read that years ago and remember loving it, but I can't seem to remember a damn thing that happened in it. Time for a re-read!
