I am working on this now.

All sub-series are listed on it's page for numbered reading order within it's own series.
I didn't combine the Ring of Fire anthologies because I don't know enough of the books. It also appears that the Grantville Gazette books have single books numbered 1-41 and then the roman numeral I-VI which are the "best of" books. This will probably require a lot more looking into so that the best of books are NOT combined with the single books.
I will be going through this series much more this weekend to clarify all the information on this series.

The Afterword to 1636: The Saxon Uprising includes the author's comments on reading order which intersperses the first two anthologies with the novels. It's been copied here:
http://www.mobileread.com/forums/show...
I think the third anthology was published after that book since it's not mentioned.
Grantville Gazette is actually a magazine (electronic only) of fanfiction set in the 1632 universe and supported by the author of the original novel. GG is published every two months. Description of What is the Grantville Gazette is at http://www.baenebooks.com/chapters/97.... (If that page doesn't start "What is This? About the Grantville Gazette", click on the P under the chapter list on the left.)
This should be treated however GR treats magazine issues - I'm not sure that would be a series.
The first four issues were subsequently published as books (paper and ebook) with the same content as the magazine issue plus one additional story. Starting with book V it became "best of" (so the content of GG#IV is an expanded version of GG#4 and could probably stay as a different edition, but the content of GG#V is different from GG#5 and should not be combined. This is complicated because the magazine used to use the Roman Numerals, and changed retroactively so it's possible that someone shelving #V really had what is now titled #5.)
This is documented in the introduction to the book Grantville Gazette Volume V:

(Again, click P under the chapters)
Thanks again. I'm a big fan of the series so I basically knew where to find these, but that doesn't translate to knowing how Goodreads wants to handle it.

GR's doesn't really ENCOURAGE adding magazines, but these are also published as ebooks, which is acceptable. I already added a few missing ones, but plan to go in and find images for the covers from the publishers site.
I will probably go through this tomorrow and message you if I have any extra questions about the series.

to http://www.goodreads.com/series/62588...
and please correct the editor name on #42 (from Eric Flind to Eric Flint)
My guess is that the discrepancy exists because two series have been set up:
http://www.goodreads.com/series/40670... lists the novels and
http://www.goodreads.com/series/40669... lists anthologies of short stories and novellas in the same setting.
Characters introduced in some of the stories in the anthologies have subsequently been used in the novels, and other stories have filled in episodes occurring between novels, using characters first introduced in the novels.
Since there are three books in the anthologies series, this would bring the total up to 14.
Can the series be merged? (Or, if the decision is that the anthologies be kept separate, can the book description be modified?)
Also, the series description on Assiti Shards mentions "12th published work due in February 2008." This is obviously dated (regardless of whether 12th is accurate) since novels in this series continue to be published in 2012.
