R3: Scavenger Hunt Item Help

Last round I tried posting books that fit the categories and it proved too much to keep up with. So if anyone wants to post suggestions here that is fine too.
Remember you can find the item in the title, on the cover, or anywhere in the book.
People: These can be any character in the book, it does not have to be a main character.
1. Child Acceptable synonyms: Kid, Minor Any one under the age of 18 is a child. The child’s age doesn’t have to be given but it needs to be obvious if a specific age isn’t given. If the model on the cover could be 16-21 it won’t count.
2. Celebrity Acceptable synonyms: Famous person(s), Superstar Any level of celebrity works as long as it is a person that several would recognize. It can be a the name of the actual celebrity or the hint of it, for example “That sparkly vampire guy”, doesn’t mention a name but I bet you all know who I am talking about. The celebrity can be fictional such as a millionaire playboy, a sports star, rock star, the king or queen, news anchor. However, the celebrity has to be a celebrity in the world of the book. Most people know who Boo Radley is but if you read To Kill a Mockingbird, he isn’t a celebrity in that world so it won’t count. Biography or memoirs would probably have a celeb on the cover.
3. Healer Acceptable synonyms:Doctor, Nurse, EMT, Medic Any person who heals another, medical degree or not. It could be a tribal shaman, random person applying a field dressing, healing witch or other healing sup.
4. Warrior Acceptable synonyms:Soldier, Knight, Fighter A warrior is a person skilled in combat or warfare. Any person who has been in any line of a military would work. A person who has a job that involves combat, or just seems to get into combat off the clock a lot would work too.
5. Couple Acceptable synonyms:Pair Can be a romantic couple, a couple of friends or any two paired together. The couple can be existing already or get together in the book. Probably easiest to find on the cover.
6. Single Male Acceptable synonyms: Bachelor, Man, Guy, boy Can be alone man on the cover or a single man through the story. If in the story the man can not be in a committed relationship, he can have casual relationships though. Doesn’t have to be a main character.
7. Single Female Acceptable synonyms:woman, girl Can be alone woman on the cover or a single woman through the story. If in the story the woman can not be in a committed relationship, she can have casual relationships though. Doesn’t have to be a main character.
8. Non-human Acceptable synonyms:Alien, Animal, or any Supernatural being Can be any non-earth bound life form. Any animal. Or any supernatural creature, half breeds are acceptable since they are not entirely human.
Places: These places only have to be mentioned not necessarily the setting or a place visited.
1. Open Space Think Rural area, farms, countryside, fields, but it could include a large park.
2. Metropolitan Area Any large city. It can be fictional or real. New York, LA, Paris, London, Valmar etc
3. Famous Landmark Must be a real place, known to the masses. Think Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge, New York Skyline etc.
4. Mountains/ cliff Large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak or a significant vertical, or near vertical, rock exposure
5. Shore line Anywhere a large body of water meets the land, be it ocean, sea, lake, river, creek, reservoir.
6. Road Narrow stretch with a smoothed or paved surface, made for traveling by motor vehicle, carriage, etc., between two or more points; street or highway.
7. Bar/Pub Drinking establishment. Must be a place where the majority of sales are in alcohol. A dance club would work also.
8. Forest A high density of trees.
Things: Pretty self explanatory items, but they could be found of lots of other situations than listed below.
1. Blood Can be dried or flowing, any creature. Bloodshed, blood lust or in relation to family is also acceptable.
2. Wheel A circular component that is intended to rotate on an axial bearing. Tires are also acceptable. Or any machine, apparatus, instrument, etc., shaped like this or having a circular frame, disk, or revolving drum as an essential feature: a potter's wheel; roulette wheel; spinning wheel, steering wheel, paddle wheel.
3. Bed A place to sleep or other beds such as a plant bed, lake bed, bed rock, truck, bed.
4. Wing An appendage used for flying. Think birds, angels, fairies, insects or airplanes.
5. Glitter Small pieces of light-reflecting decorative material. Sparkles will work too.
6. Bag a flexible container with an opening at one end. Purse, satchel, backpack, interest or to catch & seize and include all sorts of idioms.
7. Stairs A flight of steps . Porch steps, fire escapes, escalators etc.
8. Smoke The result of fire or as an adjective ie smoking hot, smoke coming out of his ears.
Colors: If using as a cover 50% of the cover should be the color, and shades of the color will work. If in the book it can be any mention of the color. However, in the book it must be the exact word, you can’t use ruby, burgundy, crimson for red.

also is glittering acceptable? (i.e. glittering jewels)or glittered (e.g. glittered like diamonds)

wing -- since we are talking about birds and appendages used for flying 1) wouldn't that be plural wings and; 2) chicken wings are also food - they used to be appendages used for flying. so a ruling on wing(s)as well please

Just had a read of the suggestions, Wanted to know, if the CELEBRITY can be fictional, and relevant to the story, why can't the FAMOUS LANDMARK be the same? Or are you just trying to make this REALLY REALLY EXCEPTIONABLY hard for us Dawn!!?? LOl.

Someone else can read it for the challenge!!!!
Single Female, Single Male, couple,ROCKY MOUNTAINS
I found this...
I don’t think Eddie took it that way because his liquid eyes turned hard and glittery and his hand at my wrist tightened and not in a good way. Still , I was in
a daze so I didn’t really register this at first.(and)His black eyes got kind of a scary glitter.
AND THIS!>>>Now, the old jalopy that was second hand when I bought it five years ago was coasting on a wing and a prayer.
AND THIS>>>>Luckily, I stil had my purse over my shoulder
AND THIS>>>To say Eddie was unhappy would be like cal ing the Grand Canyon a sweet, little canal.
AND>>> Titty Bar
AND>>> Then I walked into the kitchen to get some food and I heard Mom wheel in behind me.
DAYAM!!! i think I should have saved this book!!! LOL
Update there are colours as wellyellow, black, green, red, white/ and kids and bed

this one will be hard."
Its for sure going to be harder than the last one, that was a breeze really.

also is glittering acceptable? (i.e. glittering jewels)or glittered (e.g. glittered like diamonds)"
Yes other forms of the root word are acceptable.

wing -- since we are talking about birds and appendages used for flying 1) wouldn't that be plural wings and; 2) chicken wings are also food - they used to be appendages used for ..."
Yes, plurals work. working or not. yummy or not. :)

But colors can be any where in the book too so they should be easy. Green eys, Black dress, etc.

There has got to be a challenge.
In the reality of it if no one else has read the book you can tell us that Steve is a famous actor and I instantly know he is a celebrity. But there is the Bidge de Max that they cross, with out lots of back story it would be hard to convey to the rest of us that it is famous beyond the city they are in.

Just remember the twist. You can only claim 1 item from each list. So only one of those items would work, you also have to pick a person, color & place.

part of the challenge is finding the books

OK! Point taken! thanks for that.

In the right situation. Most cases yes. But say the officer behind the front desk or the dispatcher, those arn't really the warrior role. If there is an altercation and a fight with a police officer then yes I would take it.

You don't have to quote the whole sentence, most people do. A general location is all I really want.

This might be pretty tough. I'm curious to see if anyone will be able to get all of the items.

Yes. It is possible. A little harder than the last round but it could happen.

This is unfair. Sometimes I feel like I need a sword to go through my in box, Lol. This qualifies most of us as warriors. lol
BTW, Dawn. I think you are a warrior too. Just looking at this Item Help makes me dizzy. I can see you put a lot of work into it. Thanks for sparing your time and doing this for all of us. :)

I don't even think of this all as work anymore. It gives me something to actually exercise my brain. I need some good problem solving everyone and then to escape the Mickey Mouse theme song in my head.
Sheila, no worries. It was worded differently, it probably didn't mesh as the same thing when you read through.

Yes, because to her subjects she is a celebrity.

I would take the mention of a specific god or goddess yes.

I'm reading Riley Jensen's Tempting Evil which has a famous psychic named Dia Jones.

Alyssa, yes Central Park is a famous landmark.
Jenne, any mention of mountain would work, so yes that counts.

Does a picture of a bird on the cover work for wings? I guess a better question is.... If any of the items are pictured on the cover, do they count? I know the colors do...

Oh.... And, if the book says someone's eyes are 'glittering', does that work for glitter?
I feel like I'm being annoying.... :-/

Oh.... And, if the book says someone's eye..."
Thats what I used for glitter! I think its been accepted!

Yes, any of the items can be on the cover or in the title. So if you can see the birds wing it will count.
