also, these two page both belong to Mitch Album. please remove the persian version and combine their books.

We deliberately maintain separate author pages for authors with works in translation. PLEASE DO NOT MERGE ANY PROFILES LIKE THESE.

but it causes duplicates in their books! isnt that a problem?

If the English name is listed as the primary author, and the Persian (or other non-English) name is listed as secondary author, the books can be combined with their equivalents without losing any information.

It allows multi-language searches as well. So this is why we don't delete them. You can link the author profiles by going in the author alternate language bio and linking over to the English name tho.

It doesn't really create a duplicate book, it just means there are multiple bios with the books listed in it.

You don't really need to point these out (Persian to English names). Like rivka said, we won't delete them and you are a librarian and can do the linking yourself (which these appear to already be done).

The only time author profiles are merged, is if they are the same language, but typod or the last name is first, initial missing or shouldn't be there, etc. This is common in Japanese/Chinese names where lots of profiles get made due to cultural differences, letter accents like this: Tenjō Tenge, or other effects.

In general, it is better to ask then to merge, since merging of author profiles cannot be undone though.
