Thanks so much, Cassandra!

Everyone--after a lot of talking and thinking about the possibilty of a prologue, I settled for a forward by Kate. It's very short, but to the point. I've also added the location and time period of the novel (The Last Green Valley, CT 2034). This update was added early this week and has been active on the ebook since Tuesday. It is not active in the paperback at this time, as I am reformatting the paperback due to issues with the margin that I noticed (I am a perfectionist) As this change was in the works, but not in place during the time I was sending this out--I would like to give you the chance to read it here. Here it is:
I didn't know what caused the government to collapse or why things were the way they were, and when I met Hunter he knew little more. When it started we were too young to see why, and when we were old enough we were too indoctrinated in fear to care. This is the toll of following a leader blindly-- you openly accept that some things just are. Then the lies drown the truth, and you are left with little understanding of why. In the end it doesn't matter. Surviving the downfall is all that matters.

here is my review. i posted to barnes and noble and amazon too.

As a Teen/Adult librarian I give hundreds of recommedations but I am so used to doing it in person and talking in short twitter tag speak so that the teens don't lose interest that I find it now hard to write written reviews, I always feel I sound like an illiterate 12 year old. I really did enjoy your book and will buy your next one as soon as it comes out.

As a Teen/Adult..."
Illiterate 12 year old? Most certainly not! You have one up on me, as I have no clue what twitter actually is!!
:)

That's quite alright. I understand that school comes first. I hope you are enjoying it!

If only I could be so good about my school. I have finals (I have a weird school schedule) in two weeks. I haven't cracked open two of the three texts I have exams on!
Too involved in my books!
Hannah if you please when you finish post the link here so we can know you've finish and not add you to the list of people who still owe reviews. Thanks

Synopsis:
At eighteen there is one thing Kate Ericson is certain of—the world is at war and has been since she was two years old. That was when her father pulled her family and a group of close friends to a God forsaken place in the middle of nowhere. For Kate there is no escape from the sea of lies she is drowning in until her world collides with Hunter Marks—the son of her father's biggest opponent. An opponent that Kate didn't even know existed. What Hunter kidnaps Kate for, and what her family will try to kill her to keep secret, is a knowledge that she doesn't have. Now Kate’s innocence seems to becoming undone at the seams of reality. Hunter then finds himself fighting the hopelessness that is creeping into the edges of her heart as she learns more about the corruption that has devoured their lives. As Hunter and Kate forge a strong and unique relationship it becomes clear that their love is something that the bureaucracy never expected, and that Hunter's father will do whatever he can to destroy it. Hunter believes he must sacrifice love in order to teach Kate that the world's deadliest weapon is her. Hunter and Kate will have to find the strength to rise above a deception that is so great, even the ones who created it don't realize its depth.
