Jessie (jessie_87) Does anyone know of books where there's a zombie apocalypse, and there's a romance between the survivors? Thanks!

Beckie (chikittie) | 18 comments I know a good one. I recently did a review on the book.

WANTED Dead or Undead (The Zombie West Series, #1) by Angela Scott

message 3: by Meghan (new)

Meghan Doidge | 84 comments I hope it is okay to pimp my own book here as it fits the request?

The book is After The Virus - it is a post-apocalyptic love story. The zombie-type characters are a bit of a soft touch though ... it is more about survival and ... well, love.

It is available on all the major retailers (book page: http://bit.ly/yDCpr4). If you do check it out, I hope you enjoy it.

I just recently had my zombie romance published, and it's most definitely not your average zombie book. Read the synopsis below, and I hope you will find it interesting...

Flesher (Flesher Series #1) by Emily Shore

What Ashleigh Starr hides in her basement is a curse worthy of eternal condemnation ‒ her own fiancé, Garrett, a man who nightly becomes a flesher only to return to a human at sunrise. Some call them zombies. Ash's people call them fleshers, unclean, cursed beings that must be killed or cast out. Will she find a cure for the man she loves before it is too late?

A love story by nature, Flesher awakens deep themes and dark enigmas which will stir the very roots of your soul and leave you stalking the pages at night.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) Actually very light on romance (basically do not expect much until final book), but the best zombie series I read was the Hugo nominated Newsflesh trilogy starting with

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 6 comments The Forest of Hands and TeethThe Dead-Tossed WavesThe Dark and Hollow Places

The books are all connected but focus on different characters. Each book takes place Ina really scary, zombie filled, post apocalyptic world. They all have romance. I think you'd probably really like them.

Tyhitia | 25 comments Hey Jessie,

Glad you asked.

Devil's Wake by Steven Barnes is excellent. I read it about 2 months ago and you'll love it! :) Let me know how you liked it. Ms. Due and her husband are wonderful writers!

The novel focuses on a teenage girl and she soon discovers a love interest in the wake of all the chaos.

Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion is a book about a zombie who falls in love with a human girl, I read it earlier this year when I found out it was being made into a movie, I loved it I'm going to read it again before the movie comes out in Feburary. It's told from the Zombies point of view which made the book more interesting then other Zombie books

My Boyfriend is a Zombie by Elita Daniels is really good - not apocolyptic brain eaters or anything but a very sweet/strange novel

message 18: by Christal (new)

Christal | 79 comments Try the Aftertime series by Sophie Littlefield. It has zombies and a romance thread that runs through all three books.

Jill O’Bones (jill_h_obones) | 17 comments Not apocalypse, but My Life as a White Trash Zombie (White Trash Zombie, #1) by Diana Rowland , is wonderfully funny. It's from the zombie's point of view.

message 29: by Jen (last edited Mar 09, 2013 07:58PM) (new)

Jen (reader44ever) | 4477 comments I read a series that's not a zombie apocalypse story, but is set in a world with zombies (both thinking zombies and the more familiar shambling kind) as featured members of the supernatural community. The series is told from the point-of-view of the female zombie protagonist:

Happy Hour of the Damned (Amanda Feral, #1) by Mark Henry Road Trip of the Living Dead (Amanda Feral, #2) by Mark Henry Battle Of The Network Zombies (Amanda Feral, #3) by Mark Henry all by Mark Henry
