Oh my gosh I never even thought of the twin thing. that is hilarious, I can only imagine.

I also try and remind myself that although the series is years in the running, in their universe, they've only been married 2+ years. Still very early to be having kids (a lot of people I know enjoy just being married, together, for at least 5 years before starting a family.)

And that's true! I always forget that the story is going slowly, too! We waited almost 7 years before having a kid! (Of course, I got married when I was barely out of childhood myself (19), so.... yeah.)

He'd sure watch their backs like his life depended on it. No, he's the surrogate grandfather and would wear that robe well. (Referring to Summerset.)

I'm actually not terribly familiar with the concept of godparents, except what I've seen in movies. Any Catholics out there want to enlighten a Mormon girl? Errr... woman, that is. I guess I qualify as a "woman" these days. I AM married, with two kids, and am turning 30 this year!
I'm not Catholic but the concept has gotten so distorted over the years. Godparents are supposed to become guardians in the event something happens to the child's parents. For Protestants (and my Catholic husband says it's the same in his religion), those godparents are also expected to make certain the child receives proper religious training and needs are sufficient.
I'm not sure what the expectations are today.

When Nora decides to end the series, I hope she would consider ending with a novella as you describe. We'd miss the series but we would all have closure.

Maybe she could do a spinoff and we'd learn about what's going on with Eve and Roarke that way.
Who would the spinoff center around?

Actually, Eve's response to kids is one of the things I like so well about her, I find her reactions absolutely funny as in some ways they do parallel mine. I think it works well to have the kids she's involved with be on a limited basis ... and belonging to someone else ... which leaves her free to freak out about them on occasion.

I finished reading book "Treachery in Death" and I loved that moment when Mavis left Bella with Eve, when she went to bathroom. My smile never left those moments when Eve talked with Bella and tried figure out what she's saying. They where adorable together.
I definitely can see Eve and Roarke as parents - only when time is right - I can't wait that time (if there will be that time).
What about books never end time - well it would be sad, but better stop when books are great and don't disappoint. And when Nora decide when to stop it will be fascinating THE END!

Nice! :)

If they had twins then they could have two sets of godparents. Doesn't Roarke have any really good friends? Maybe...brain fart...the guy from the Penny Pig. I want to say Mick, but didn't he die in Betrayal?

That is absolutely one of my favorite scenes too! SO adorable!

Who would the spinoff center around?"
I think a spin off could center around Peabody, her and trueheart could be detectives, and partners. Baxter could be lieutenant and Eve could be captain.
