A small Clarification: The children learn the meaning of the symbols as soon as they can understand it. It is taught to them in school around age six. But certain tiers with multiple jobs, you would not know which specific job you'd get.
For example: Joe is eight years old. He knows that he is going to be a doctor or a lawyer, because people with an isosceles triangle symbol are Tier 12, and they become doctors and lawyers. What Joe doesn't know is wether he'll be assigned the doctor route or the lawyer route. (Of course, there is a small possibility that he could be a spy, but no one knows they exist)
Also, note that a tier like Tier 4 has MANY different jobs within it. Tiers like this has a year of training to determine which aspect each person best fits into.

I thought this was obvious, but maybe not. The split happens at 15 years of age. For everyone. No if ands or buts. So if you're tier rp starts just after the split (Spies) then they must be 15!!
1. Drudgers: They are the slaves of Fotavis. They work on farms, and in the winter, a greenhouse. They are watched by sentries, who often resort to physical punishment to keep control. Drudgers are given little food and live to about age 30. (More information in the information topic of that folder)
2. Servant/Janitor: Most Servants work for unhappy elitists but some work for doctors, lawyers or others for room, board and very little spending money. Some upper tier members aren't kind at all to servants, and they do the dirty work of many peoples lives.
3. Outdoor/Service Workers: This is a broad category that includes anything from landscapers to firefighters. It is given a low position because these jobs are not easy- outdoor work like landscaping is very stressful, especially when you are working for elite lists. It is hot and sweaty work. Service workers (EMT's, firefighters, law enforcement etc) is difficult because it entails long hours in the middle of the night. Service workers are not looked highly upon in the society of Fotavis for some reason that no one really know, it just is. Life is had for those in this tier. Note: The most evil and sadistic men (and a few women) of this tier become the sentries in the Drudger farms.
4. Factory Workers: Life isn't great for them- think the sad lives of factory workers in the industrial revolution.
5. Teacher/Nanny: They supervise the growing up of the youngsters. A lot of nannies are old and hardened, leaving them nasty and spiteful, but some are like parents to the kids. They don't have a lot of free time.
6. Shop Owner: A simple life, often times owning small stores or supermarkets. There aren't many department stores and supermarkets in Fotavis, it's mostly based on a small shop system. They make a living, as meager as it might be.
7. Office Worker: They keep order in the technical and financial systems of Fotavis which aren't as complicated as our own, but a number of middle class office workers are necessary. There lives are boring but comfortable.
8. Scientist: They are often nerdy and keep to themselves- working on secretive projects and making enough money to support a nice lifestyle.
9. Creative Designer: These are the artists, decorators and photographers of Fotavis. Like all talent oriented tiers, those who do not show talent in he industry are used as helpers, assistants and publicists, depending on the personality of the person.
10. TV/Movie Production: In this tier, comes the actors, directors, producers, camera men, and every single element of entertainment production. Movies and TV in Fotavis feature a lot of pro-Fotavis propaganda and cliché love stories with outrageous characters and styles.
11. Sports Players: Sports are a large part of Fotavis life for tiers 3-12 in general. Sports tier people who are not athletic become everything from trainers to equipment carriers. Sports include: Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, and a game resembling handball, but played with baseball mitts and other small differences.
12. Doctors/Lawyers: This tier is highly revered in Fotavis life- the head doctor of a hospital is treated as a god, though not in a religious sense (there is no organized religion in Fotavis). Lawyers continue to be nasty slime bags. This tier is not split after a long training session like other tiers, instead the people are randomly divided into Doctor or Lawyer categories t the age of 15. Other tiers train every member for a year then split them into jobs based on their talent level. NOTE: THIS TIER also includes spies, but the general population does not know this. Only the highest people in government do. Read more in the info topic of the spy folder.
13. Government and Company executives: There are not a lot of large corporations in Fotavis, but the few that exist have close ties with the government. This tier includes the Mayor, who is elected from the batch of government top people every 6 years.
14. Elitists: These are rich snobs with personal mansions and servants at their sides. Their job is to 'oversee' the other levels, which involves a lot of yelling at people. It's an easy and plush life. Read more in the Elitist info topic.
Important location note: The country is Fotavis, known to be ruled by King Jasper, who no one in the city has met, but our story takes place inside New Apple City, which is walled in. There are rumors of the other cities, all totally isolated, and no one has had any other contact outside the inescapable walls. (The area of NAC is huge. It encompasses all the Drudger farms and surrounding land.)
Growing Up: Names are assigned randomly- you will not have the same last name as your parents. You will probably not have the same last name of your twin. If you were a twin you might never know, unless you are identical. The concept of siblings is old and unused, kids learned about it only in school.
Lingo: NAC refers to New Apple City, the city this rp takes place in.
The NN is the Nurturing Neighborhood, or the section of the city where the children are raised.
