Vickie — Thank you for asking. I'm in conversation with my publisher about that right now! I'm fairly confident that answer will be "yes," I'm just not sure when it will be.

Sally got into the car, buckled her seatbelt, and turned the key. The metallic glint of a knife's blade in the rearview mirror was the last thing she saw.

I would go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and become a Quidditch champion. The idea of zooming around on a flying broomstick appeals to me.

The books on my 2017 summer reading list are: The End of Miracles, Veronica’s Grave, H is for Hawk, The Unbearable Lightness of Scones, Breaking Every String, Soul Selfish, Ellen in Pieces, and The Tea Planter’s Wife.

I ran away from home when I was fifteen years old. That would make a great foundation for a book.

Set in 1935, my current favorite fictional couple is Henrietta and Inspector Howard in A GIRL LIKE YOU by author Michelle Cox. Why? Because they've just met and there's still that exquisite "tension."

NOTE TO SELF was inspired by the curriculum I developed for clients who went through the nine-month "Life Harmony" experience I created for people who want to offload baggage and step into lighter, joy-filled living.

My writing is quite literally inspired by nothing; by the absence of “things.” A minimalist, I thrive on uncluttered, empty space.
I sit on a kneeling chair at a loft-sized desk with nothing but my laptop and votive candle. My writing studio has five almost-floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook nature.

I’m currently working on two books:
The nonfiction piece takes a look at the intersection of business ethics and personal virtues.
The fiction piece is a collection of short stories told from a rearview mirror perspective — nostalgia.

I have three words of advice for aspiring writers: confidence, persistence, concision.

When I write NONFICTION (self-help, motivation, inspiration), the best thing about being a writer is helping other people let go of what no longer serves them well, and encouraging them to say yes to people, places, things, events, and opportunities that are positive, uplifting, constructive, and healing.
For me, the best thing about being a FICTION writer is that it’s the equivalent of what an empty box is to a child—a key that unlocks the imagination, transforming empty space into a race car or stage coach, fort or castle, spaceship or submarine. In my perspective, a blank page is transportation to a world of my own, one where anything is possible.

Most writers have a fear of encountering writer’s block—anything that stops the flow of writing.
After a conference I attended at the Writer’s Institute where I saw people wide-eyed with fear about this “dark inner-demon we would all encounter at some point,” I decided to make a preemptive strike and get myself a writer’s block so I could shift my perspective and embrace this thing, rather than run scared.
I had just put my intent out to the Universe when a friend with a phenomenal collection of crystals gifted me with a small basket of gemstones. Hidden among the treasures was an oblong piece of olive-colored Nephrite Jade. My writer’s block!
Jade (or “yu” as it’s called in China), is rich with tradition. It symbolizes the five virtues of humanity: wisdom, compassion, justice, modesty, and courage.
I love my writer’s block—it’s all about flow!
