Goodreads asked Laurie Buchanan:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Laurie Buchanan When I write NONFICTION (self-help, motivation, inspiration), the best thing about being a writer is helping other people let go of what no longer serves them well, and encouraging them to say yes to people, places, things, events, and opportunities that are positive, uplifting, constructive, and healing.

For me, the best thing about being a FICTION writer is that it’s the equivalent of what an empty box is to a child—a key that unlocks the imagination, transforming empty space into a race car or stage coach, fort or castle, spaceship or submarine. In my perspective, a blank page is transportation to a world of my own, one where anything is possible.
