Rachael K. Hannah I've always felt a need to create a story that realistically portrayed mental illness in a way that humanizes the people dealing with it. It felt important to explore, and not make light of, the gravity of the situation, yet not forget that at the end of the day they're people who have everyday lives to live. I also wanted to create characters who, although flawed, were devoted to one another despite all. In Painting Sage, there are no good guys and bad guys. There are many sides to each character, and I hope that my readers can relate to them.
Rachael K. Hannah Just write. Even if it's bad, just write. You can always go back to add on, revise, completely delete text if you have to! It's OK to write something that's less than perfect. You'll fix it later. It's all a part of the process.
Rachael K. Hannah I just started Chapter 4 of Book #2 of the Painting Sage series. I have a few ideas for the title but haven't committed to anything just yet.
Rachael K. Hannah Above all, believe in hope and believe in yourself. Find what it is about yourself that is different, special, and embrace it. Never be afraid to be different, an outlier. Anything is possible if you're willing to put in the time, love, and dedication needed to accomplish your goal. The only one who can hold you back is yourself.
