Cyan Night Hi Jasmine, thank you for the question. First of all, the book does not wish to inspire anyone of any gender to beat someone else up, except maybe in a combat sport tournament if that is your hobby/profession. Keep in mind, the term 'sport' means that the conditions of the combat is highly regulated and monitored for safety.

The book does not explicitly advocate the rights of any gender, however, it does bring to light how disadvantaged a woman (of a minority race) can be in work and professional sports, and how one individual fights against these circumstances. In my opinion, feminism is sometimes over simplified by society as merely equal rights in law. In reality, there are many subtle ways in which a person can be marginalised without breaking the law. The book wishes to inspire anyone, regardless of race or gender to fight against the covert discrimination.

It is also my opinion that with equal rights comes equal responsibility. Aliyah, in 'Girl Fighter' is someone who takes complete accountability of her life in facing all her troubles.
